    A unique and stunning museum
Other reviewers have described this museum and what lies within it far more eloquently than I am able. I can say only that in a country filled with archaeological treasures, there is nothing even remotely similar to this. Indeed, there are surely few places anywhere in the world that can match it. For starters, let’s just say Alexander the Great did not skimp when it came to burying his father Phillip II. Then, to find the the tomb fully intact less than 50 years ago makes for a modern-day miracle. The underground museum seemingly takes you into the tombs themselves, and the items found within are breathtakingly displayed. This is easily reached heading to Thessaloniki from Athens or Meteora or an easy day trip from Thessaloniki. Oh, and perfect on a rainy day. We expected to be amazed, but it still exceeded our expectations. i cannot recommend highly enough.

A spectacular experience by any measure
This museum exceeded every possible expectation. It is brilliantly conceived and executed to enable visitors to gain context and appreciation for the importance of the site. Easy to navigate, and the interpretive materials are easily understood.

Do not miss if you love ancient history
This is a highly recommended visit for all Archeological and History lovers. Reading past reviews, I would like to share my advice. Look on google maps for the parking of the Archeological site. From there, it is quite easy 100 meters to find the entrance. Once you buy tickets, go on the left to the underground entry. Once you finish with the museum, you can stroll around the rest of the site.

One of the most impressive museums I have ever visited. It should be more popular. The exhibits are unique and the tombs are so impressive and the atmosphere makes you travel through the time and learn more about Macedonia. We stayed in Thessaloniki but it definitely worths a visit. When you finish you can stroll around the area it’s a beautiful place.

    Mind blowing
This is one of the finest small museums I have ever visited. It is constructed within the burial tumuli itself and gives direct access to the tombs of the Philip II of Macedonia and the ill-fated Alexander IV. The grave goods are displayed in near darkness in the number of display gases and a circular hall. The level of preservation is unbelievable and the items are of the finest artistic achievement.

Difficult to reach by public transport, one would have thought they'd make a greater effort.
The museum was good and interesting, visiting the archeological sites in the area requires a few km of walking though.

It's an amazing experience. The museum, both in terms of atmosphere and the richness and quality of its exhibits, is breathtaking. There are no words

Far away from everything, and very hard to find. The museum is interesting but not suitable for children. No option for audio guide. If you are in the area - go see it. Otherwise, I’ll pass.

Virtually impossible to find using Google maps. You just drive round and round the edge of the site with no signs to parking or the tombs themselves. Dreadful. Very expensive for the tickets to the tombs and museum. Give the big new museum a miss. Tomb is interesting but very dark inside when you first enter. Not all it's hyped up to be.

We came to Vergina just to see the tombs. There was some construction, with the absolute worse signage ever known to modern civilization. We drove around this stupid place for an hour, and there was no guidance. What is wrong with you people? Your site exists for tourists. But you make it impossible to find. What a joke!!!
