The wooden monastery building is perfectly preserved. Of great interest is the gallery of statues of Buddha. And of course it’s interesting to watch the students.

Unique in its architecture and style, this is a working monastery - somehow the young novice monks just continue with their studies regardless of the throngs of tourists that move in and out of the room. It's a little uncomfortable to watch some of the tourists just squat down and stick a long lens into some of the young boys faces and then waddle off without a comment. There's one tourist whose guide paid two young monks to walk around and strike poses for his photographer client. There aren't many vendors hawking goods.
There is a small building nearby that houses small Buddhist statues for all the donors that have given funds for the upkeep of the monastery. Once again, when going barefeet, watch where you step as the floor isn't too clean in some places and have sharp pebbles.

I like this teak wood old monastery, especially Buddha Images in side are so beautiful. Design of building as well so beautiful.
Young monks are sitting on the circular windows is so cute too.
I will recommend you to visit when you come to Inle.

Small but well-taken care of, this is a beautiful wood make monastery. The nearby Paya with different sizes of statues, glass works and volunteer-contributed restauration is worth a visit.

A nice enough Buddhist temple and monastery located just north of Nyaungshwe. We took a bike ride there, and both the location itself, as well as the trip there, was a great first introduction to many of the things that makes the area around Inle Lake so wonderful to visit. Unfortunately, it is thoroughly upstaged by some of the sights that you will encounter if you go on a one-day cruise on the lake itself.

Beautiful walls and paintings.
From the outside you wouldn't imagine it is so beautiful inside.
A bit damaged but tourist visits and donations instead of damaging it more, could help to maintain it.

One of the top sacred places in Myanmar.
Not to be missed. Certainly is memorable.
IT has a different touch compared to big cities temples. Of course water oriented.

An original teak building, built 1889, Once covered in gold, it became disused when flooded two years in a row, when the Lake was somewhat higher than these days!
Has some interesting artifacts inside.
Its next to the road from Heho airport coming into Nuang Shwe.
