Hidden gem
Aug 2018
I discovered this hidden gem located in Abruzzo, on the border with Molise, on Facebook. That’s why I decided to explore the area a bit more. The falls must be more impressive in the spring when there is more water. However it’s worth visiting this site. I got there after six pm, so I didn’t have to pay for an entrance. Walk about 500 meters, then turn left to walk towards the 3 different steps where you can view the falls. Mind the 200 steps back up, which can be tiring if you’re out of shape. But it’s worth the effort .

A lovely natural attraction
Apr 2018 • Family
We visited Cascate del Verde whilst in Abruzzo and quite honestly struggling for things to do and to fill our time. Generally, the whole region seems to lack the push of a good Minister for Tourism so many of the ‘attractions’ are poorly signposted and often difficult to find. That was exactly the case with Cascate del Verde and we very nearly gave up trying to find it. Fortunately, however, we persisted and finally found the correct location and for a very reasonable fee for three of us managed to set off to see the waterfalls. Bear in mind if you visit, there are a lot of steps and quite steep slopes to contend with so wear comfortable shoes and take a bottle of water as even though it was April when we visited it was still quite welcome. The lower lookout offers the best view of the falls with good line of site whilst the upper observation area is more for the panorama of the whole valley. On the whole very enjoyable, a good walk and well worth doing to kill an hour or two

A Beautiful Waterfall
Jun 2015 • Friends
This wonderful waterfall is a little known gem in the lovely scenic National Park of Abruzzo.A must to see when in the area. The waterfall is at various different levels starting as a narrow one and broadening at each stage until there appears to become 3 then broadening as you reach the lower levels. It can be a hike making your way up to the start of the fall and back again. However dont be put off if your walking is limited as you can get to the top by car or coach and then just make your way down carefully and slowly. The walk is signposted so you cant get lost. Each turning gives a different enthralling view. An added bonus is that there is a small tunnel/walkway which you can go through and leads very near to the waterfall. You will definitely get wet however the picture you take will be amazing. Dont forget to bring your waterfproofs with you !! so you can live the moment. At he bottom of the falls, there is a nice viewing area with a small restaurant which serves a nice selection of food and drinks. It will be one of the most enjoyable experience of your travels in Italy and definitely not to be missed. Happy days !!!
