If you are looking for some of the most beautiful scenes in the Julian Alps, then the Martuljek waterfalls are the answer.
The first one is easily accessible from the lower path (left side of the valley) leading to the waterfall and a little tougher for the right path. The second one is recommended just for people with an appropriate safety belt and in good physical condition because it is some steep climbing in the end.
However, you can enjoy crystal clear water, some outstanding scenes and many more.

The two waterfalls are very nice and worth seeing. The hike is also very nice with some beautiful views. Both waterfalls can be reached with sport shoes but it is better that you have proper hiking shoes.

Recomended in hot summer to chill. To reach the last of waterfalls we neded like an 1,5 hour. The path to the first waterfall is nice go throught the forest, while to get close to the last is easy 10 meters climbing without any gadgets. Standing so near the last takes really your breath away because of the cold wind that the waterfall made.

You can park your car along a part of the hike. Then you need to climb to the 1st waterfall then to the second. The climb is steep but OK. The waterfalls are very nice !

Lovely tour don't miss it! One piece of advice: be prepared with a hiking boots and other hiking accessories. Slap 2 is difficult and slippery shoes might be dangerous.

Having visited the lower gorge and waterfall on our last visit to Kranjska Gora we decided to attempt the hike to the higher fall. Though the path through the forest is steep and difficult to follow in places it is worth the effort to persevere and reach the top. Unfortunately we didn't feel fit enough to tackle the last 25 metres to the bottom of the upper fall as it involved scrambling up a rock face with the aid of wires. However we still had an impressive view from the lower viewpoint and were really pleased we had made the effort.

There are 3 waterfalls. First two are moderate, third can be difficult. Restaurant at the top. Spectacular walk, do not miss!

Most of the people visit Triglav National Park ascending peaks and hiking in higher mountain ranges. So many people miss beautiful walks like the one to lower and upper Martuljek Waterfalls.
If you have a half a day or so and want to make a nice walk, visit this place. Trail is remarkably well maintained (as most of them in Slovenia) and it really joyful refreshing walk to the waterfalls and back to the hut (for a lunch or a cold beer)... :)

From the car park in front of the bridge we walked 20m along the road and then turned left into the woods. We soon reached the marked trail. It's an easy walk until the first waterfall, though I was a bit scared by the thick wire fences above our heads on the rocks. They are supposed to keep us safe from falling rocks.
The first waterfall is really impressive. After that the path got pretty narrow and quite steep so I don't think it's suitable for very small kids.
We tried to get to the second waterfall and we nearly reached it, but our hiking sandals seemed unsuitable for the last part of the walk so we gave it up just before the finish line, the second waterfall. While walking in the woods I felt like jumping into a scene in the Lord of the Rings with a lot of green moss on the huge rocks. It was such an experience...but for us it took more than 2 hours to get up and down the hill, well, with a short stop at the hut.

We went there in August, but you can go there through spring till autumn, just the quantity of water is changing. Of course the waterfall are the nicest in spring or after havy rain.
The path was really nicely done this year (from my last review), so it is easy accesable, also for small children. To the first waterfall is around 30 minutes walk. There are some areas, where you must be very carefull with some stairs and bridges, but it is really worth it. The path was repaired this year and finally open for public, so you mustn't miss that.
A bit further there is Ingo's cottage with nice livada, where you can get also something for eat and drink (mostly local food).
Further there is quite stip 45 minutes walk to the 2. waterfall.
