Nice place to visit

Nice, relaxing place to visit. Lovely architecture. You can't see upstairs as it's lived in. Entry not expensive.

Mr. Hektorovic knew how to enjoy middle ages. A villa wit the pool that you can't find on Hvar island nowadays. A bit ungroomed garden, but a lot of cats around :)

a most beautiful building, with its calming fish pond, and great history home to a once historic poet, if you are lucky national folklore performances occur sometimes in front of the building, As well small concerts and poetry reading take place during the summer months inside the house.

too bad you can't walk all around the castle. Garden is beautifull. It would be nice to put some more everyday household items from the past around the garden.

Very nice house with beautiful garden and pool. House is around 100 m from sea and pool is connected with sea so you can see fish inside.

We went in the evending so not many people around and we were able to get some good photos. It was designed and built by a famous poet around 400 years ago or so. Nice view if you go up the steps. It cost 30 kuna each for entry about £3.50

The 16th century castle home belonging to Petar Hektorovic. A spectacular residence with a leafy fish pond and gardens that lead you up a set of stairs for a good view of your surroundings. It is very quirky as there is several of the poet's quotes throughout his home that are inscribed into the stone walls. Definitely worth a quick... More

We had a pleasant hour wandering around this place in Stari Grad. Tvrdalj is the fortified summer residence of Petar Hektorović, the Croatian poet (1487–1572). Evidently he was a romantic in the literary sense of the word before such thing existed. One was transported back in time. Hektorović sounds like he was thoughtful and community spirited, and Tvrdalj retains a... More
