Very atmospheric ruin, worth using headphones as you walk around to get a potted history of this house, which possibly has more impact visually as a ruin rather than another grand and fading country home. The grounds are at their best right now, with a...More

We travelled from Shropshire to visit the courthouse and gardens and we must say we were very happy with the time spent here, the court is very reminiscent of an era gone by which sadly had been destroyed by a fire, but some of the...More

I think it helps to read the history of Witley Court as you get a greater understanding of this amazing place, although in ruins through fire you can imagine the opulence of this place. The fountain is a work of art and some of the...More

The main feature of this English Heritage site is the fountain. It is turned on every hour on the hour and runs for about 20 minutes. Besides the fountain, there are the ruins of the great house, the gardens, and a choice of forest walks....More

My teenage daughter and I visited here this week and it was lovely. Stunning ruins with a lovely garden and the fountain was worth a watch. I recommend the audio tour to all as it explains the building to you far better than reading the...More

The fire wrecked shell of a huge mansion sitting in lovely varied grounds. Choose your path through the different gardens then approach the eeriely empty house. Dramatic against the sky! Wait for the fountain!

Fantastic gardens and fountain.A selection of walks. A delightful tearoom and a magnificent painted church which you can visit without going in the court or gardens which you have to pay to go in.

We last went to Witley Court during the August Bank Holiday. There was plenty of extra car parking available and although there were lots of people visiting, the site did not seem crowded at any point. We walked up first, past the lake and up...More

Depends on the children and what they expect. If your children like outdoor activities like treasure hunts, walking and just enjoying the outdoors then yes but if they expect up to date playground adventures, huge amounts of... More

To be honest not really. We were lucky to visit on a day when a special event was organised. Great for garden/woodland walk and picnic. Children's area for toddlers very limited. Best to contact direct in case they are... More
