Beautiful area for a (weekend) walk

We took a nice countryside circular walk to Crawley, visited the ruins and then had a drink before a wood fire in the Swan Inn. What a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

31st January 17, My husband and I went to visit Minster Lovell Hall in the pretty village of Minster Lovell. Minster Lovell is a lovely village on the river Windrush, with a 15th century bridge and an inn, The Old Swan, which is over 500 years old. Across the fields lie the romantic ruins of a medieval manor house Minster... More

Great spot - can't believe I missed all the ruins the last time I was in ML. A sorry state of affairs. Rectified now at least.

Excellent for Dog walkers, Historians or just paddling in the River Windrush in the summer. Historical Ruins of a well to do family house but fell on hard times when the head of the house supported the wrong side against Henry Tudor. Small Church and graveyard next to the ruins. Longer walks from this location towards Witney and Crawley Mill... More

If you pop into the Old Swan and Minster Mill put aside an hour or two to visit Minster Lovell Hall located behind the church, it is well worth the 10 minute walk from the hotel.

My partner and I enjoyed an afternoon walking around the ruins and admiring the country views. We extended our visit by walking to Little Minister and back through to the village.

Great place for a picnic on a warm summers day. Sitting by the river watching the world go by. I love this place. You can continue your walk from here along the river to the next village and continue on a circular to your start point. Worth a visit

We have been to the village and visited the church before, and afterwards looking it up on the internet were kicking ourselves for not realising this gem was just behind the church! so we went back today and were not disappointed. Beautiful quiet setting by the windrush, yes it is a ruin, but a fascinating one. Lots of walking and... More

A beautiful spot for a picnic by the Windrush River. Perfect for photographers, artists and history lovers -the ruins are very picturesque. There are also walking paths across the picturesque countryside and the river is perfect for children to swim in warm weather. Parking and entry are free, a bonus. A walk through the nearby Old Minster Lovell village is... More
