We are making the most of our National Trust membership, our proximity to Lyme and the nice weather this month. We've spent 2 days exploring the gardens and are going back for the Easter Egg Hunt at the weekend and for a further explore. We...More

As members of the National Trust we are slowly working through the book and have been to a number of houses and gardens recently. I can honestly say this is the nicest one we have been too. The house is amazing, gardens are beautiful-massive lake...More

An absolutely gorgeous park with lots of walks and activities to do. Separate adventure playground for kids keeps them busy for long periods while parents can have a relaxed time. There's a nice restaurant with hot and cold food and a tourist shop as well....More

A lovely park. Ideal for the family. Try and come on the train. The station is very near. There always seem to be masses of traffic at weekends and holidays. To avoid stress make it a train journey.

Just a little way out of Stockport and the M60 is a jewel called Lyme Park. Acres of beautiful rolling landscape, lakes, walks - just glorious. The house is packed with history dating way back to the 16-17th centuries. The guides are there if you...More

The park extends to some 1,400 acres of moorland, parkland and woods and that doesn't include the House and gardens. If you're planning to visit all of the property you may want a whole day and I had to make two visits over a year...More

What a beautiful place to visit on a sunny day. Our first visit to Lyme Park but not the last. The experience was made even better by a very knowledgable and helpful staff who all had little snippets of history of the place and if...More

Went to see this place for the first time. Glad we'd joined the national Trust. The fees to park your car and go into the house are more than a 1/3 of a full year's membership. Moving on. The house is superb and each room...More

Not alot to say about this place other than the mansion is superb, the gardens are amazing and will be better in summer and the views and grounds are great. It's national trust so the bar is pretty high. I did notice that everyone seemed...More

Alcohol is sold in the cafe as a stand alone drink or with meals so there should be no reason to stop visitors drinking in the picnic areas
