Visited here with a friend on a Friday afternoon. Luckily rain held off while we were visiting the gardens. Volunteers, guides, and staff were very friendly, helpful, and informative. Price of admission was reasonable. My friend and I took the train from Manchester to Disley. Luckily it wasn't raining when we got there so the walk wasn't bad. There is... More

I am a National Trust member and this was a bit disappointing unfortunately. I went to a hen party afternoon tea with ladies of mixed age from about 28 to 86 years old. Although the organisers booked for 17, they were told they couldn't accommodate tea for 17. They were offered a picnic tea in the garden which they accepted.... More

Hadn't been before, although obviously seen it because of Pride and Prejudice. Volunteers throughout were really helpful and very informative and were keen to engage with us. One room volunteer was particularly knowledgeable and spent some time telling us interesting anecdotes and pointing out features we might have otherwise missed. It helped to make the visit even better. Very impressed... More

Had a nice day looking at the rooms and talking to the guides. Nice lunch at the cafe. It was a rainy day so didn't get to see the gardens but will go back for that. Nice wood paneling.

This was out first visit to Lyme Park and we were really impressed. Fantastic grounds, lovely property to explore topped off with a delicious ice cream from the timber yard. Will definitely return soon.

Right now the rhododendrons are a picture and the aroma from all the flowers is intoxicating, The house is full of tapestries and other pieces of interest including a clock collection, one criticism is being pounced upon by the room volunteers with masses of information I didnt really want to hear, if I want to know I will ask. The... More

Lyme house and park are set just out of Disley and are a marvellous attraction with historic house interior commencing in 1600's and beautiful gardens particularly in summer when the Rhododendrons are in full flower. With expanses of lush green lawns anda shady verdant forest it is a delightful place to visit including with children who will delight in the... More

Lyme Park was even better than expected. We have National Trust membership so entry to all aspects of the complex were free for us. The house is beautiful and fascinating, with lots of enthusiastic volunteers. The gardens are amazing - so bright and fragrant. Our daughter loved the hands on activities in the house, games in the garden and playground.... More

Visited in half term break. The house was closed, but the gardens were the reason for our visit and they did not disappoint: they are beautiful. Unfortunately the power was out so the cafe was closed but the is another one a short walk away. Watch out when paying for admission- after the hard sell for NT membership we later... More

We called to lyme park i have been many times as a kid and decided it was time to take our kids to the park, there was a £7 fee to drive in and park up, but it is still well worth it, lots of wonderful views around the park, there is also Lyme hall, several lakes one of which... More
