My visit to this particular cemetery was prompted by family history, which no doubt governs many an itinerary. This site is very beautiful and has a good little visitor centre too. In some ways its simplicity adds to the emotions as against, say, the grandeur...More

The military cemetery was absolutely pristine and well maintained. The visitor centre is so interactive and modern that the stories are easy to listen to and read.

Well kept and maintained cemetery and a good visitor centre. Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery is the impressive witness of more than 4 years of war. The hamlet of Lijssenthoek became the venue for the biggest evacuation hospital around Ypres. 10784 burials are here including one woman....More

A well maintained cemetery, as they all seem to be here. Very informative visitors' centre with the useful addition of an electronic database.

One of the largest military cemeteries in Europe. Many nations have servicemen laid to rest here including one woman. The voices from the whispering wall in the visitor centre is interesting.

Best travel is by car as the cemetery is near the French border. About 45 min drive. Take the chance and visit Ypres as this is quite near.
