Nice historic place

It is a bit far off from main Andong town. But its worth a visit. Liked the way the place was built. Great view from this place.

Interesting place to visit because you'll understand the influence of Confucianism in South Korea. You probably spend the most one hour at Dosanseowon. But you have to take a 50-min limited bus travel from city centre. Check the bus time table with the tourist information counter.

Visited here with two friends met whilst travelling. A little gem of a place, accessed via a gentle path high above the river, we all three of us loved it. There was no one around when we were there, either visitors or staff. Helpful, informative literature and signs make it very easy. And the views are beautiful. Get the bus... More

I love the scenery! This confucian school has what it takes to become a beautiful place to visit. Located between the mountain and the river, the scenery is breathtaking. Walk around 10minutes from entrance to the location, and just enjoy the view. The history behind each buildings are also worth to know. There are both english and chinese explanation for... More

The distance can be a good challenge if you don't have a few days in the area, taking bus is also a bit confusion, but you will meet the people at bus stop going to the same place. To have an authentic experience, this is the best experience.

Dosan seowon (seowon means college/academy for secondary education) is considered the intellectual home of Korean confucianism. The seowon consists of multiple buildings including lecture halls, dormitories and libraries (2 for paper books, 1 for wooden printing boards) and other subsidiary buildings. It is quite beautiful to look at ; you can even sit at the lecture hall and relax/meditate. The... More

Though far from downtown Andong, Dosanseowon is indeed a place worth seeing. Even for a family with children.

Off the beaten track, the Dosan Seowon is a Confucian school consisting of several restored structures (lecture halls, dormitories and ponds). A modern museum houses historical books and information about the scholar Yi Hwang. The complex can be found down a windy road and a short scenic stroll from the parking lot. The area is quiet and beautiful area.
