I was there during Navaratri festival and it was crowded. It was really a spiritual experience. Near by there was Kerala Restaurant, had a lunch there and it was good. One of famous temple in Mangalore.

Kollur is a small place and by expensive if you mean star hotels, I do not think there are any. Mahalakshmi Residency is the closest and better option but is not an expensive hotel.
