    Amazing Views at Fuente De
The drive from Potes up to Fuente De is amazing, a steady climb , up great and well maintained roads through some beautiful scenery. It is a great run for cars, motor bikes and cyclists. Ample parking at the base point of Fuente De with café and bar. The cable car was E22 each ( Sept '23), and in our view worth it to take the trip up the plateau to some amazing views where you can wander, take one of the designated walks, or simply have a beer , wine or coffee at the café at the top overlooking the valley. You are truly amongst the heights of the mountains here. Well worth a visit , glad that we did it, and a highlight of our trip.

    An unforgettable experience
An epic trip on the cable car takes you up above the tree line into a rocky moon like landscape. There are lots of high mountain walking routes some leasing up to the glacier (but you need to be fit as it is much further than it appears). There is plenty to see within short walking distance including alpine flowers, animals and even encircling cultures. An unforgettable experience. Take plenty of water and energy snacks, wear sturdy boots and take waterproofs. A hat and sunscreen are essential as it can be blisteringly hot up there. Not recommended for young children as the going can be tough in places. Book your timed tickets in advance as otherwise you could be waiting for hours to ascend.

Memorable Scenic Adventure in the Picos de Europa
The Teleférico Fuente Dé is an awe-inspiring aerial lift line located in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park. As you ascend, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the rugged landscape, with a dramatic elevation gain of 753 meters in just 4 minutes. Here’s what makes this experience truly remarkable. We arrived early in shoulder season to avoid the long lines and wait times. Once we arrived in the upper station, we were greeted by an immense panorama of natural beauty. You can soak in the grandeur of the peaks and valleys. It’s like standing on the edge of the world! We didn't get to do any long hikes due to the weather, just around the top near the station, but the views were breathtaking. We highly recommend for a wonderful experience in the Picos de Europa.

Above the Clouds in Picos de Europa
My favorite thing in the whole world is seeing different mountain ranges in our travels. The sight of towering grand peaks never gets old and breathing fresh air never fails to relax. If you find yourself in Asturias, don’t miss Picos de Europa, one of the underrated national parks in Spain. The area is so green with stunning blue lakes, charming villages to visit and of course, fabulous food. Enough said, just look at the spectacular pictures.

Go early and mid week !
Its a very busy cable car and you need to go early (opened 10am) and not peak days. We pre-booked tickets but it didn't matter, had to join queue anyhow , booked for 10am, arrived 9.45am and got cable car about 10.30am. Not much at top, poor cafe and shop and toilets (we had low cloud so no view) then a decent 1km walk to viewing point above, where the track then splits for those going to summit nd those doing the P24 walk of 14km back down to car park. 14km walk down it a challenge, frst 5 km all mountain side then quick stop at hostel for refresh and stunning views, sign post are then broken so bare right at cross roads below. Down thru fields of sheep and horses, and guard dogs who want you to stay away, then over small bridge into forest. Its a proper walk / clamber from then on in almost rain forest type environment so quite tough. Overall its only worth doing if you're doing the walk, nothing up there for kids

Very good - get there early and not weekends if you can!
Deliberately came on a Monday morning in September as we heard it gets busy. Parking was really easy and we pre booked online. The lift is actually quite small but spectacular. The views on the way up and at the top were great and the highlights on the walk back down along with the animals we saw and the coffee in the hotel on the way. Take poles with you to help with walking downhill all the time!

Not a well run outfit. The web site encourages people to precook tickets, but if the weather is poor, as it was in our case of zero visibility at the top and rain such that it would not have been sensible to go, they won’t change the ticket to another day or offer a refund. So you just waste the payment you made, and have to book and pay again if the weather improves. The area around the lift is littered with unused tickets.

It’s quite busy, the queues can be slow, they don’t increase the frequency of the cable car trips if it’s busy. It does not say you must have a mask until you get all the way through the queues and arrive at the lift entrance when the lift conductor says ‘no mask, no travel’ - fortunately some other people travelling at the same time had a couple of spare masks. Neither the operatives at the booking desk nor the turnstiles tell you that a mask is essential. The lift and equipment looks quite old.

So we won’t be going back there. Pleasant walk down though, through summer grazing meadows then into the woods below the cliffs, takes about 4 to 5 hours.

Incredible enclave, unbeatable scenery.
If you are going up you can choose to take round trip 24€/person or one way 12€/person and walk down are about 3 hours approx, it is worth it. The best is to go up first thing 09:00 or 09:30 hours, later it is massed and it takes you to go up because each cabin maximum 20 people.
Very crowded and unprepared people.

Have tried to book online for days unsuccessfully. The website offers 1/2 hourly intervals with only one ticket being available. We were advised by the parador that if we went at 08.00 we could buy a ticket for that day. I turned up at 07.45 with a very long queue waited 1/2 hour. The result was that you could choose any hour you liked. My expectation was that it it would be a couple of people per cable car, no. 15 people to a car. Normally it would be 20 people. The size of car is 2m x 4m how does this respect the heath and safety measures by stuffing 15 people into such a small space, this isn’t safe. If they consider this to be safe what other things do they consider to be safe?

We took in the cable car ride as part of our motorcycle tour or northern Spain and so pleased we did. The route was lovely and the location was very well organised with ample parking. Ticket times had to be booked and adult tickets were 18 Euros each return or 11 Euros single. The mountains are stunning and the cable car gives fabulous views. At the top you can walk around and take in the awesome mountain ranges and spot the bird life. You can walk down which is 14km hike or take the cable car down. There are cafes both top and bottom, which were reasonably priced. There are also toilet facilities and gift shops top and bottom. Well with a visit.

I used this cable car in August 2023. Due to the holiday period there were many visitors. To avoid excessive delays, buy tickets in advance, with scheduled days for the ascent and descent. Unfortunately, however, these appointments are not adhered to by the company, which books ascents and descents every half hour for 100 visitors, when the cabin capacity is 20 passengers. As a result, colossal queues form to take the cable car in both directions and a visit to the viewpoint that could be done in 1 hour takes up an afternoon. if you also take into account that the queues that form have hundreds of visitors and you have to wait in the sun, in my case with a temperature of over 30º C, I cannot say that the experience was good. the landscape is beautiful, thanks for that.

A superb ride up to the top of the mountain where some walking options were available for whatever distance you like. Views, obviously are fantastic.
Had read some horror stories regarding long queues so we booked for 9.30am and didn't have to wait longer than 15 mins - because we were 15 mins early and had to wait for our slot. On our descent, about a couple of hours later, after walking and a coffee, we were the only ones in the cable car. At the bottom, however, the great queueing had begun! We were glad we'd booked an early slot and would recommend anyone else does too!

Incredible views, well worth doing if you're in the area. My only complaint is that the cable car is very cramped - and I mean very cramped! Once you get to the top, the views are amazing and you can walk around for ages! There's a cafe up there too so you can get a drink and food if you want.
We didn't pre book but we did turn up pretty early in the day and the queue was minimal.
Definitely recommend doing it if you're there!

We judged it over time since from other comments we saw that if it didn't work over the air they wouldn't refund your money. I called the number they have on the website to find out if we could buy the ticket right there since it was €40 for two people and they told me yes but that since it was a party it would be better through the website because we still didn't have one. The climb was perfect. When we wanted to go down they told us that because of the wind they were no longer going up but only going down. We spent more than an hour waiting for the necessary people to gather to fill the cable car and be able to go down. That was the failure. Profitability they want to get. From the top the views are impressive, the routes are well signposted. There is a cafeteria upstairs with views. The experience is worth it

Quite the truth scam. 24€ per person to go up in a cable car with 20 people canned like sardines, you do not enjoy the views pq you can not see anything and the heat q makes you want to get to be able to breathe.

For the return is even worse, pq in addition to suffering the same experience as on the climb, you have to queue for more than 1 hour to catch the cable car down

They cannot charge what they charge and not have a better organization to make the experience more enjoyable.

The stunning views, but that's nature's thing, and that's why you can't charge pq is everyone🤷

I would not repeat and would not recommend it.

We had a very good experience with the cable car ride @Fuente De. A friend got tickets on-line for a 10.30 time slot on a Monday, when there was hardly any line to get in. I believe the price was 17 Euros return. Masks are still required of passengers during the ride which takes 4 minutes. The views and scenery are very beautiful and spellbinding, if the weather is ok. There are hiking trails as well as well as toilets and a restaurant on top. We took the ride down at 12.45 and there were no lines. Assuming weather and times are fine, I would highly recommend this ride.
