My wife and I scheduled a visit to the Ysios winery/bodega on the recommendation of a friend. The Bodega was designed by Spanish architect Santiago de Calatrava, and it is visually stunning, both inside and out. The building is all flowing lines, which Ysios has...More

We went on an English speaking wine tour at the Ysios winery - Spanish architect Santiago de Calatrava designed the bodega. It is approximately 2 km from the town of Laguardia and we walked to it from there. From a distance it cleverly almost disappears into...More

I second what another reviewer said. We simply stopped by to see the architecture and possibly buy some wine in their shop. When we got in and asked if they happened to have any tastings anywhere, they said no, they only do "professional tastings" with...More

We had read about the design of this bodega and wished merely to see it. It is of singular design and in beautiful surroundings. To visit and taste the wines can only be done by appointment.

We booked the tour mainly because we wanted to see the architecture "close up", feeling the 15€ charge (including snack) was excessive ... but, having taken the tour, we felt we'd enjoyed excellent value. The guide had an excellent grasp of English and of the...More

The Calatrava architecture and stunning mountain backdrop are more than enough to make this place a must-see. But the winery tour is also surprisingly well done. Highly recommend—unless you're bringing small children. This really isn't a place for them.

Popped here after having a lovely glass of Ysios wine in Laguardia. Staff were rude simply saying we hadn't booked a tour and were totally disinterested. I'm actually revisiting the region in a week and could have booked for then but now totally disinterested in...More

I visited this winery recently for a tour and tasting. The tour was very informative and the winery unique with the modern architecture. Definitely one of the coolest wineries I've ever seen. I would recommend this on a first trip to La Rioja especially with...More

I’d recommend the opposite, for two reasons. The Ysios tour has a much smaller limit on the group size, and both wines at the tasting are Ysios wines. At the Riscal tasting one of the wines provided was a white from a... More

Laguardia is a small town in the Rioja region. The Rioja is full of great wineries. Its part of the Wine Tour Region for these unique to the Old World wines of Spain.
