Well it seems I am the first foreigner to comment on this place. I hope I can provide some helpful tips and a rough idea of the experience.
Let me start by saying this is a one of a kind experience. There are multiple choices in Tokyo alone, but I actually find this one interesting for the following reasons:
- It's really a local's place, so you get the true feeling.
- It's cheap (450 yen).
- It opens late (till 1 am if I read correctly). I actually went on a saturday at 11 pm.
The downside: it's hard to find. You can walk from JR osaki station (if you wanted to use your pass) but use your GPS with google maps. You'll get lost otherwise.
It's also a very small place (one main tub, one sauna, and one tiny cold pool. The intimacy could be a downside I guess, but there was ample space among guests. I never felt uneasy. And it wasn't crowded.
Overall I found it to be.....interesting. worth it. What's nice about this place is that it's a small one. Not too overwhelming. And it's cheap (450 yen)
-Here is what happens: First, you buy a ticket from the vending machine at the entrance. Pay extra for access to the sauna (although I still went in when someone else opened the for. I didn't know you needed a special key)
- go upstairs to the changing room, find a free locker. 100 yen deposit, refundable.
- equipment : Imagine going to the pool. You will need a small and large towel. You only use the small one in the baths though to either clean yourself, or to soak up in the bath. You will also need your soap and other cleaning products. You will shower, sitting on a small stool (that you must rinse before sitting). Make sure you are well cleaned with no soap before going in the hot pool.
- no slippers allowed
- The main hot pool has a very dark water... almost black (some special mineralized water). Just a FYI, in case you're wondering. It's apparently normal.
- There is a separate onsen for females and males.
For such a cheap price, I think it's worth it. It's not a place you spend your entire afternoon. Locals spend around 15-20 min from my observations. I would go for the experience. It wasn't bad, even calming. Grab a beer on the way back.

Not large, but enough to enjoy the local experience in Tokyo. I've been there for 10+ times, and it is always filled with the local people even in the midnight. Open until 1 am, so you can enjoy the genuine natural hot spring in Tokyo after the daytime activity.

I am American and have heard about Onsens and wanted to try one. I have tattoos so it was hard to find a place that would allow me. You go to the vending machine and get a ticket. Go up the stairs and undress then walk into the room with showers and a hot tub. We didn’t have towels or soap with us but you can buy some from the front desk. The locals washed themselves for a good while before and after the hot tub. People were very welcoming and the ones that knew how to speak English had conversation with us even calling us “big, strong Americans” all in a joking manner. Highly recommend if you are from out of town.
