Spring, summer, or fall, we love coming to this place either for a walk, picnic, or both. The falls can be rugged and raw, yet a bit further downstream people are swimming.

Make sure you drive just past the campground to the day use area to the trail head. Not a long walk to the lower falls and it's a groomed trail.

Just a short drive from Parksville is a very interesting, beautiful provincial park with 2 waterfalls rushing in a very narrow canyon so not only is it magnificent but very loud. The hike to both falls is about 2 km and quite steep in some places. It is very much worth the time to visit this site.

We didn't know what to expect when driving down the winding narrow road for what seemed like ages but the falls were worth it. There are lower and upper falls. Both beautiful.

Put on some runners or hikers and walk from the parking lot through the beautiful forest to the bridge that overlooks the a large pool where you can swim then the shallow river moves onward to the falls. You wouldn't know the City of Parksville was just outside, it's so quiet.

Getting to the falls are a ways off the beaten path but worth the trip. Large parking lot and good trails. Take a trail to the falls and return on another. Great natural area.

Loved the hike. Would recommend it for sure! The rock formations in the river were beautiful. The trails were well maintained. Saw lots of large trees.

I remember thing to Englishman River when I was teen to go camping with family friends, this past summer I took my kids camping and it was fabulous! The water is beyond ice cold!!! But so clear and beautiful. The falls are gorgeous and the trails are nice to walk through and good for kids.

Just outside of Nanaimo and worth the short diversion. I didn't see it during wet season so it wasn't spectacular but it was beautiful and a nice place to take a short hike.
