The area
Neighbourhood: Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.

It's an eye treat to walk along the young people's fashion capital of Tokyo, from Harajuku Station on Omotesando Avenue, and then loop back along Aoyama Street with a stop at Shibuya Hikarie or its new neighbor across the street, Shibuya Stream. Great strolling, people-watching.

Aoyama Dori (Street) runs from Akasaka to Shibuya through some of the more wealthy parts of Tokyo. You will find the extensive gardens and Akasaka Imperial Residence as well as Jingu Gaien park area. Further towards Shibuya you will reach Ometasando the upmarket shopping Street. There are good restaurants in the side streets and the place and street which is wide has a good feel to it. Access to the street is via a number of Metro lines with entrances along the street
