We went on a fun walk through Harajuku and had a nice yum lunch in an Udon shop in a lower level building. Tried one of the famous crepes which was a-ok a lot of cream and not much crepe. Walking distance to kiddy land toy mega shop.

Extremely packed on weekends and very touristy. Not all that fun or entertaining and definitely overly publicized.

Harajuku is a place to shop and eat. There are full of shop on the side of the street. There are many fashion shops and gift shops. If you need to save your budget. You may buy some fashion clothes and gift on there. Harajuku is not like Shibuya, there are not very expensive thing in Harajuku, there is selling... More

Went on a Sunday and loved watching the crowd. Get some cotton candy - there's a whole store just for that: huge, multi-colored cotton candy! Pretty much sums up the street

The street for teenagers! It was a busy street, with lots of shoppers, lookers and tourists. Really showed us what the teenage life is like in Japan. Very entertaining.

Very busy but interesting tourist street. Lots of trendy, funky type shops. Go early to walk the street and to avoid large crowd. Good crepe stands along the street offering a huge variety of crepes. Lots of tourist shops also along the street as well as cafes. Close to Meiji Shrine, so it can be included as an interesting option.

A must visit especially with teens, make sure they have some money to spend & you are happy to meet them at the other end of the street...this vibrant, interesting street & people are an inspiration. Pop into Daiso for some cheap Japanese trinkets like sushi keyrings.

Very busy when we visited on a Sunday- popular suburb full of people shopping/mingling. We were hoping to catch examples of young fashion, teenagers dressed in cosplay, punk and lolita styles but unfortunately didn't see a lot of this. From Meiji shrine we were drawn down the main boulevard, stopped for lunch, then ventured off to side streets perusing many interesting... More

I'll start with saying I hate shopping for souvenirs. We went early, about 9 am and most shops weren't open yet but we did get to enjoy walking through the area before the mad rush later in the day. The downside was most crepe places weren't open yet. We did manage to find one. The reason for the average rating... More

Very crowded shopping street, lots of souvenir shops, food stalls, etc. My family like the place a lot so we visited the place twice, my kids bought some souvenirs, tried some food and have fun there.

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
