There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.

Gorgeous place to visit. About a dozen hedgehogs for you to hold and feed.
FYI apart from coffee and tea the café experience is more for the hedgehogs which is so cute you get to feed them worms, but don’t expect any food service of your own lol.

Really enjoyed our visit to this hedgehog cafe. Staff all really friendly. Our favorite hedgehog was Anzu and the snow panda mice were so small and cute.

Went here for the first time with family and overall, we had a good experience.
Hedgehogs are cute and adorable. This was a unique experience that I highly recommend if you are an animal lover and haven't experienced it before. Place is not that big and because of that I highly recommend reservation just in case. Staff are polite, friendly, and professional. They also speak reasonable English. They also have free basic, non-alcoholic, self all you can drink kiosk which is already included in the admission price.
Reasons why I took 2 stars off are because their price is on the higher side. There are other places in the area which are little cheaper for pretty much the same experience. The other main drawback is that they charge for each and everyone in the family whether you will play with the hedgehog or not. As long as you enter the shop and are not 3-year or under, you have to pay the full price! Also, there is no adult or child price - everyone pays the same price!

This is a friendly “cafe” featuring hedgehogs and tiny mice that you can feed and handle. The young people on the staff are warm and welcoming. The hedgehogs themselves vary! They are nocturnal creatures, so left to their own devices they’ll be asleep during the day. They will wake up to be fed worms and food pellets and you can hold them on your hands (with gloves or without, depending on your level of comfort). We arrived when they open at 1pm and the cafe was empty, which allowed us to play with several of the animals. It filled up as time progressed. Even though it’s called a “cafe” there is no food served, but drinks from a machine. The kids had a good time!

Chiku Chiku cafe' allows you to interact with a number of different hedgehogs.
Pannacotta was very shy, probably traumatised; Sacre was very combative and fun to engage; Hikaru was very assertive and mainly wanted to run away.
We tried five different pets, all with diverse personalities, and the experience overall was fun. However, this would not be my first choice of pet cafe' next time I am in Tokyo, you can't do much with hedgehogs.

I had never seen a hedgehog so This was a must do. Another must do is to make a booking as the days fill up in fast and early and there may not be any space for Walk ins. If you want to feed them get meal works. You don’t get many and they cost $400 yen for maybe 8 mealworms. But the hedgehogs do love them! You need to wear gloves that are provided for you and handle with care by scooping under their bodies. They are shy creatures and quite blind so they startle easily. Two were very actually e and I found difficult to hold but then I had a sweet little 5 month old girl that likes being held and just wanted to sleep in my hands. I went solo so I had to get the staff to Take pics for me as my hands were full so ideally you have gone with someone to help get the pics you want. The staff were very lovely and friendly, the premises were nice and clean. I am not sure the hedgehogs really wanted to be picked up as they do tend to run away or try and hide under items within the enclosures. Drink machine there provided complimentary drinks but I was so engrossed I forgot to grab one

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and almost as adorable as the hedgehogs and baby mice. The rates vary depending on how much time and interaction you want. So it’s very flexible. The cafe is in one of the most exciting areas of the city. I’m so thrilled we stopped off here.

Chiku Chiku Hedgehog home and Cafe in Shibuya was really fun with a lot of cute Hedgehogs and all you can drink beverages on the spot. The lady who was running the place was extremely sweet and professional. She takes very good care of the Hedgehogs and makes sure everyone is safely enjoying themselves. Highly recommended. There are also very cute panda mice to hold and they are extremely soft and supple its so cute.

We had an amazing time at Chiku Chiku Cafe! We were visiting Tokyo with our 9 year old daughter and heard good things about this hedgehog cafe. So glad we visited! The employees were friendly and helpful. They set us up with two hedgehogs and gave us tips on how to interact with them and then let us enjoy our time with “Hanada” and “Peperon”. There were unlimited drinks (tea, cofffee, water, that kind of thing) we could sip on while we were there. The employees explained to us that while hedgehogs are nocturnal they have like 16 (I don’t remember the exact number) so they rotate them in and out to let them get good rest. They seemed to care about the hedgehogs and their well-being - they looked well taken care of. At the end of our half hour the employees all helped us snap adorable pictures to remember the uniquely Tokyo experience! A+, would visit again!

The reservation is required?

Hello!
You can visit without having to make a reservation.
However, as the weekend is so crowded, waiting time may occur.
Because reservation will only accept 60 minutes course, those who wish 30 minutes course should come directly to the store!

Dear all,
I am interested in visiting a hedgehog cafe. However I am wondering about the welfare of the hedgehogs. Are they limited to one space or can they run to a shelter to hide if they are afraid? Do they also have shifts? Because they are nocturnal so they might be sleepy.
At the end of the day, I wouldn't enjoy an experience where a hedgehog to be forced to be pet. I would rather the hedgehog have his/her space. I wouldn't mind not petting it as running around some big space is sufficient for me to enjoy my coffee. Thanks!
Regards,
Gideon

I am sorry for the delay in my response.
We also thank your pointing out the very important matter about the hedgehogs' welfare.
We run our shop with the breeders' and vet's consulting on the hedgehogs' safety and health care.
Our 30 hedgehogs are with costomers every other day and each one takes good rest in the private cage at night.
Each one can run on the wheel at night to do some exersise and get rid of some stress.
We are sure to trying makig the best efforts for the hedgehogs welfare, but we listened sincerely to
your opinion and will work harder to give them better conditions.
We would like to thank you again for giving us a good chance to think about our policy once again.
