There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.

This was very cool and interesting. You can choose a small snake in a transparent box to take to your table (you can´t take it out) and swap it for another after a bit. And you can also pay extra to sit on the couch and hold a bigger snake (it´s quite quick since they take good care of the animals).

This place really delivered. The kids desperately wanted to see snakes and got exactly what they were after.
Lots of non-poisonous snakes on offer to observe and for a slight extra fee, to hold and interact with. The snakes available for observing at your tables are often sleepy and pretty immobile. Would definitely recommend the interactive experience if that is your thing to really get the most of the experience. Trained handlers are always with you, guiding the holding experience. The room itself is very warm for the comfort of the snakes, so would recommend bringing layers you can remove.
For New Zealand travellers - a head's up that customs don't allow you to bring snake skin souvenirs back into the country.

Entrance fee per person is 1000yen including 1 drink from menu (alcoholic too).
You will get to choose a snake kept in a box to be placed on your table but you cant take it out or touch it.
Pay extra 560yen and you get to seat on a couch to hold and play with a choice of 2 snakes. Approx 15min session. If the child wants to hold the snake then you’ll have to pay for an adult and a child fee even if the adult is not participating. Just need the adult to sit on the same couch.
Overall, a very nice and peaceful environment. It’s the right place for scaly fans to indulge in their devotion.

Unlike the owl cafe, we didn't need a reservation here and were seated right away. We got to choose a snake to have at our table (although we weren't allowed to take it out of its cage or touch it), and were given drinks. For a little extra money, we got to take out another snake and hold it/put it around our necks. We got to spend a good amount of time holding and touching the snakes, and got some great pictures with them. The staff was very nice, and the gift shop had some cute items for souvenirs.

As a snake lover, I was excited to visit the cafe but also a little worried that the snakes would be too stressed from being in tiny boxes and being excessively handled. This was not the case- the snakes are rotated for handling (two carpet pythons had "resting" signs on their tanks from being previously handled and could not come out when we went), and the staff were doing daily checks and cleaning the tanks as we ate. Our little friend Mayhem was eager to get out of his box, but looked healthy and had no sign of injury due to rubbing to get out. The snakes are not handled at the table and hand cleaning is required, a healthy choice for the patrons and snakes. Prices fluctuate depending on which and how many snakes you want to handle, which is reasonable but may add up quickly past the ¥1000 entry fee. Overall a fun experience with great staff who care about their snakes!

My first visit to this place made my day, and I have been coming back here since then. It is a lovely hidden gem in the heart of the busy Harajuku district, very close to Takeshita Street and Kawaii Monster Cafe, but I have never seen it crowded in here. It's a bit poorly marked, located on the 8th floor, and the elevator entrance is a bit hidden (you have to enter the bottom floor of the building, pass a karaoke entrance on your left and there is a silver hall with an elevator that leads you to the cafe). Upon entrance you are briefed about the cafe and prices, then you get to choose a cute little snake in a box that will accompany you at your table during your visit. You can change the snakes throughout your stay for free. The cafe has some delicious drinks, like mango milk or black honey coffee (extra 100yen). If you choose a cheaper drink, it will be included in the entry/handling price.
If I recall correctly, you/your group get 2 standard (not so rare specimen) 15 min snake handling sessions for 1400 yen per person or so (drink included). So you get to have a little snake on your table during your coffee break, then you can actually touch 2 bigger snakes 15 min each. Great deal! Some of the snakes can go around your neck (no they are not going to strangle you). You can pay extra to handle 4 standard, or 1 standard, 1 rare, or 2 standard, 2 rare snakes. The cafe also has several snack, light meal and dessert options.

Tokyo Snake Center is listed as "Cafe and Snake" on Google Maps. It is located in trendy Harajuku, on the 8th floor of a plain white building just down from the Laforet shopping mall.
I arrived right when they opened at 11am on a Wednesday, and I was the only one there for my entire hour stay, one of the nice things!
For the 1000 Yen base charge, you can pick from several small snakes in clear boxes to join you at your table. One drink of your choice is included in your charge as well. The staff speaks pretty good English, and easily explained to me the rules and that you have the option of "quality time" with some of their larger snakes for an extra 540 yen. I had iced cocoa with Baron and Mar, two cute little guys. Please note you must not take the smaller snakes out of their boxes, appreciate them from behind their comfy cases.
After my drink, I walked around a took pictures of their snakes, all very beautiful creatures, and opted for the "quality time."
The staff will let you pick from four snakes, and you get to sit and hold one at a time, with one switch, for a total of two different snake interactions. My first one was a pretty little corn snake named Hozuki. She was very calm, lazily wrapping around my arm. The second one,a ratsnake named Rin, was more all over the place.
They sell nice souvenirs like postcards and even snake skin that came from their snakes. I recommend the cheapest, which is cute little cookies, one shaped like a bobble headed snake.
I would 100% come back again and highly recommend the experience to anyone who can appreciate the beauty and fun of snakes.

Its hidden away so you might miss it! The staff are absolutely lovely, they kindly broke down the prices and answered any enquiries about the snakes.
It got busy around 12:30 as more groups started to arrive so I would recommend coming a little earlier if you're visiting solo.

I was curious about this snake cafe and was really satisfied by the experience. You pay an entrance fee with an included drink and you have the possibility to hold and pet snakes. The waiters really take care of the snakes and make sure they do not get too stressed.

I loved how clean and quiet the cafe was. Snakes which you could bring to your table to accompany you was in a nice little box so you each had your own private space.
Touching the snakes (the bigger ones) was a nice experience as well! I liked how the snakes were rotated so they could have their rest and alone time. It was cute that each snake had their own name and a chart where you could see their "popularity votes".

How is the prices on this café? Do they charge anything for handling the snakes? Or do they come with the meal? And can you handle several snakes, or just one per meal?
Thank you for any feedback:)

I don't know if you can have a meal though !
Hipe it helped a bit! If you like snakes and are in harajuku, definetly worth taking a break there!
