A quiet but beautiful shrine that is a popular cherry blossom spot in spring. It also holds a local festival late October. The shrine is dedicated to Shoin Yoshida, a political reformer who educated prominent samurai in the mid-1800s. He was executed when just 29 years old, and his tombstone is in the cemetery behind the shrine.

This shrine is built in the quite residential area. It symbolize Yoshida Syoin and his private school called "Syokasonzyuku". Around the shrine, there are many shops associate with Shoin and his pupils. Even New Year's day, shrine was not so crowded. It's a nice spot for first visit of the year.
