浄土真宗本願寺派のお寺です。江戸三大美人の一人「笠森のお仙」の墓所があることで名が通っています。本堂の扉が青色というか藍色的な鮮やかな色合いが為されています。

正見寺のルーツは、応永の中期、つまり足利義満、足利義持、足利義量が将軍を務めていた室町幕府の時代に滋賀県（近江国）の江州栗田郡駒井城主が菩提のために建立した寺でした。1628年に江戸赤坂一ッ木に正見寺を建立、その後、四ッ谷南元町に移転、1909年、明治42年に日本博覧会の開催予定により、現在の場所に移転してきました。第二次大戦の戦災により消失、昭和46年再建し現在に至っています。墓地には、明和時代に江戸三美人の第一といわれた笠森お仙の墓があります。

この辺りはお寺が多いのですが、このお寺は本堂が青色とカラフルなオシャレなお寺だと思いました。早稲田通り沿いにあり、立地が良い。

笠森お仙は江戸時代、水茶屋の娘に生まれ｢江戸三大美人｣の一人となり、美人画のモデルにもなりました。その後、御庭番の倉地政之助に嫁ぎ九人の子どもを育てましたが、その後病死。正見寺(当時は四谷)に埋葬されました。墓は墓石群のなかにあるので、ちょっと探しづらいですが、嫁ぎ先｢倉地家｣の名を目印に探されるといいでしょう。

応永年間（1394-1427）に創建された。早稲田通りの歩道から少し下がった処に石造の山門があり、その奥に本堂がひっそりと立っている。境内は広くないが、綺麗で木々が並んでいる。

中野区の上高田にある浄土真宗本願寺派の寺院で、専念山壽光院と号します。早稲田通りに面して北側にあります。非常に重厚な造りの本堂です。
