Unfortunately top platform closed for renovation but still worth the visit. Staff friendly and the line to wait not too long in the mid afternoon

Maybe we house have gone at night. If you are limited in time, I wouldn't bother. If you have been to the Eiffel tower in Paris this is not going to suffice. It is a bit hard to get a full height photo here, the area is closed in surrounded by trees and buildings. The highlight for us is the... More

Getting there was easy and it was just a 1 km walk from the nearest train station. Entrance was ¥900 yuen each which converted is about Cdn$10.50 per adult. The entrance lineup at the time wasn't long nor was the lineup for the elevator which helps. They had essentially 2 floors of observation decks available. On the night we went,... More

Although Skytree has become a relatively new entrant to the Tokyo skyline, I prefer the iconic Tokyo Tower. The views on a clear day are stunning and not to be missed.

Tokyo Tower is a "must visit" tourist attraction when you go to Tokyo, it's just like when you go to Paris, you must go to the beautiful Eiffel Tower. Tokyo Tower is gorgeous, especially during the evening with the lights on. To get up there, you will need to pay for the entrance fees and you can chill as long... More

We visited the tower at night and enjoyed the views and the atmosphere. When we visited we saw a live performance and a light show in the tower as well as experiencing incredible views of the city. There is a large area with multiple quality souvenirs. The eatery is great for families, because everyone can pick their own meal. There is... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
