We stayed at the Grand Hyatt which is located in Roppongi and attached to the up-scale mall there. Many high end shops and a number of restaurants in the mall...along with a huge skyscraper which houses many hi-tech offices with so many younger workers, streaming...More

This area of Tokyo is where the majority of Westerners congregate. There are many reasons for this but the obvious one would be the numerous Western restaurants and chain stores. It also seems to cater for excess in many forms. That suits many people, just...More

Akasaka / Roppongi
Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were
famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants,
bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of
Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the
area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot
to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art
Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art

Stayed at the Mitsui Garden which was quiet but it's not in Rappongi and you would need to walk to Daimon to get a one stop metro into Rappongi. Decent hotel though. Really easy to get around though. The monorail will get... More
