The road is super large and very clean just like 99% of Tokyo roads. There are a lot of different shops and restaurants

Central, Historic neighbourhood with many fine shops. More of a business district (Tokyo Stock Exchange is near) however it's a neighbourhood with a less frenetic vibe than Ginza or Roppongi (both short cabs away). Many fine hotels and restos in the neighbourhood. Short run to...More

Typical downtown area of Tokyo city. Lots of bright lights and flashing signs, people everywhere and so many places to eat drink and just watch the city go about its hectic days and evenings

Nihombashi (Japan Bridge) was the centre of Edo/Tokyo in the past and there is a brass plate in the centre of the road on the old bridge, which was the starting point for all road measurements throughout the country. Unfortunately traffic forbids close inspection! The...More

Nihonbashi..... Nihon means Japan in Japanese and Bashi means bridge. So nihonbashi means a popular bridge in Tokyo area. There's nothing really special about it, other than the fact that it's happens to be situated in the heart of Tokyo. It's right outside Tokyo railway...More

My first visit was 20 yrs ago. I paid another visit because it's on the way to Mitsukoshi and Takashimaya dept. store . The site had made some changes with building a lift to get down to the riverside and floating pier. . Now the...More

A colleague recommended that we visit this as it is a great contrast to places such as Ginza and Shibuya. While they are a few Metro stops apart on the same line, this place is more genteel, without the teeming masses of locals and tourists...More

I don't know whether or not it's because when I first stayed in Tokyo, I stayed in this area, I have special feelings about this area. The Nihombashi area overall is quieter than its other places such as Ginza, Ikebukuro, or Shinjuku. We went to...More

The shopping is grade A. The department stores are amazing. I also enjoyed visiting the Bank of Jpan Currency Museum and the Tokyo Stock Exchange and walking the historic Nihonbashi Bridge.

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular
