The Ninomaru Gardens are in the area of the old Edo castle and are great examples of Japanese gardens. The place, so close to the activity of downtown Tokyo is quiet and peaceful. You can spend significant time walking these gardens. Best access is via the Yamanote Line and Tokyo station and enter through the Otemon Gate opposite the Palace Hotel.The... More

A fine example of Japanese stroll gardens revealing finely pruned pines, azaleas, crepe myrtles and maples The path winds across stone bridges and onto stepping stones across a pebble beach beside a waterfall which tumbles down the hill in a winding pond.

Typcai Japan! Peaceful sorroundings yet with some dignity. Get into the end part and listen the air, you will find it. 典型的な日本の静寂と平和をたたえ、かつ威厳のある庭園。奥へ進み、耳を澄ませてみよう、きっと実感できる。

All the water seems to form a pond, with an iris garden filtering out the water as it comes in. There are long-finned koi here, swimming slowly, with photographers and tripods waiting for the perfect picture of... More

Amazing garden to visit, either with a tour or on your own. A lot to see and walk around. The iris section is breathtaking. A must go to.
