Address
Neighbourhood: Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

Great for nostalgia, so if you're into retro gaming, you'll probably love this place! Its charm lies in the games/gaming systems themselves, there isn't a lot of merch. Just be aware it's kind of stuffy and hot in the store, with not a lot of space to move around, but still fun

This is an awesome place to relive your childhood memories! They’ve got stuff from Atari, early Nintendo, PlayStation, PS2, Gameboy, Super Famicom and accessories like the Nintendo light gun, Virtual Boy and other interesting things.
They also have another arcade level where you can play a number of retro games such as Street Fighter. They’ve even got a working Pong arcade set!
Must visit!

Our teenagers loved this place! 3 floors of retro games and accessories with the top floor full of games at 100 yen a play. We loved the old super mario 😊

This store has three floors - the top one has retro arcade games you can play on for 100 ten a go, which was fun. The other floors house games for old games consoles plus merchandise. Fun way to spend 20 minutes. Bit hard to find so I have included a photo of the sign by the entrance.

Akihabara on its own is worth a trip to the area, but the icing on the cake is the the floors of Super Potato!
Take the elevator to the third floor the store is on 3, 4 and 5) and lean in to the cacaphony of retro arcade and console game sound that washes over you as the doors open.
There are consoles and cartridges here for everything from (and even a few predating) the original Nintendo system. Off you've been searching for a rare cartridge, this is a great place to look.
The top floor is arcade consoles, maybe 15 or so, if you want to spend some time playing.
Overall it is an experience not to be missed, IMO.

Two (or three, depending if you count the cafe) floors of video game heaven in Tokyo. Looking for that missing N64 cartridge or even older technology, this is the place. The ghosts of 8 bit characters walk between the stacks. If you have members of your party that are uninterested, send them away and meet up with them later. Its an acquired taste, but if this interests you, the extra 30 minutes to find exactly that Playstation 2 disk you are missing is priceless.

Awesome selection of vintage games!
The halls were tight and it was very hot, but worth a visit.
I went in looking for merch, which they had some, but you'll get a better selection from Kotobukiya across the street.

Part of my trip to Japan was to hunt down some retro video games that never made it's way west (pokemon green...). Despite its small size this place uses every square inch it has to store thousand of retro video games. Its easy to find what you're looking for, and friendly staff to help you find what you're looking for (I brought a list of game titles in Japanese and they were very happy to locate all of the games they had for me). The prices are reasonable too with some rare finds, box games and vintage collectables.

My husband loves to visit comic book stores wherever we travel, so of course we made our way to Electric Town during our trip to Tokyo. Many of the stores were full of claw machines, bright lights and figurines for sale. However, Super Potato stood out with it's 3 floors of retro games and comics. While not usually my thing, even I had fun perusing the aisles of nostalgia with old school Nintendo and Playstation games. If you're into gaming or if you're just in the area, this is a great stop.

A very nice ambiance with a dim lighting and perfect location.
I love the playstation point.
Service is a little slow but it's worth the wait.
