The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

Our sons loved the Gigo building. The arcade is fun. Baskets on the floor for your backpack or purse. For the arcades you get a card for the arcades you want to play, then get yen to play the games. Lots of options on different floors. If anyone in your family likes video games, they will enjoy it.

Terrible resolution, bad tracking, narrow field of view... This is honestly years away from a regular Oculus Rift; I haven't felt this tricked in a while :(

It was also advertised as a 30 min demo but it took me 10 mins to complete the game.

The staff at the vr level are just so rude. Yelled at us because we dared to touch the vr equipment. If their staff is so precious then have a side. Other staff were very rude as they said our children were to loud. The place has loud machines everywhere screaming at you. What difference will a few kids make. The staff are also no help at all.

The game is exciting and I enjoyed it but the headgear they put on was horrible! It was a bit painful on my nose throughout but i carried on because the pain wasn’t that bad and I wanted to get my moneys worth but basically a day later its left a cut either side of my nose and now i have a spot on my forehead and a spot next to my eyebrow literally a day after visiting. Gross 🤢 I never get spots either and I've now been in japan for 3 weeks and still not had one spot, yet the day after I put those VR goggles on i have 2 spots on my face and a cut either side of my nose from the goggles. They said that they clean the VR goggles but I highly doubt that its anything more than a quick wipe down

Teens loved this. Several return trips to the top floors with the big games and VR games (luckily we were staying nearby). No queues, but you could pre-book some of the VR games

Spent an afternoon here- first few floors are games and UFO catchers. Floor 6 is all VR games and we all loved Tower Tag. It was so much fun! Tried a couple of the others but they weren’t as good- the horror one wasn’t great but I could play Tower Tag over and over again!

All the cranes have the grip set to let go completely when it is lifting the prizes. What is worse is that after people play and leave the prizes in a more winable position, the employees come instantly and resets it back. This makes it almost impossible to win without spending loads of money moving it inch by inch because the claws let go everytime it pulls it up halfway.

This entire area is amazing. The building has different levels from claw games to video games. You'll spend hours here and not know it.
