First happened by Consuegra, castle, and windmills in the late 1970s while living in Spain. At that time the castle was really just a ruin and it's amazing what has been done with it over the years. Well worth the price to see it. The...More

These windmills are situated on the hills overlooking Consequra and the view is amazing. We came across them as we traced the trails of Don Quixote from Madridejos to Toledo..

Went there on a tour. Its a desolate boring windswept ridge with a few crappy rebuilt mills that dont work and some old castle. The view is of the small town and church below which is exactly the same as every other small town in...More

This is a great little side trip if you are going on your way somewhere or as apart of another day trip. It was rather cold and windy the day we went but the windmills and surrounding views are gorgeous. We went as a group...More

This spot was part of our educational tour and was just a quick stop over. While planning the tour I had thought nothing of this and was honestly not particularly excited to stop here because all I thought was there was windmills. Boy was I...More

As we approached Consuegra by road we could see the ridge, high, behind the town with 12 white painted windmills in a row with a castle in between. You could see them from miles away as you approach Consuegra. What a sight – what a...More

We made a stop here on our way from Madrid to Cordoba. Situated on top of a hill in the otherwise flat landscape, the windmills stand out against the skyline. The windmills are no longer operational, but provide an interesting photo opportunity.

Read posts on the windmills & was wondering if you can tell me how easy it is to get to if you don't have a car? We'll be in Toledo for a night or 2 and are debating about taking a trip out to see them. Thanks for your help. Nancy

There is a very charming restaurant with lovely terrace/garden called El Cardenal which I would recommend very much for the site and the traditional Mancha cuisine. For a visit of the town or the windmills, I thought you... More

We are looking into catching the Samar bus from Madrid to Consuegra. Are the castle and windmills far from the Samar bus station (is it a walkable distance)? Thanks in advance.

Here is what I wrote in my review - We took the Samar bus from the South bus station. We thought we could take the 930 bus but in fact this was only available on Sunday. The next bus we could take was 1100. And surprisingly... More
