The pleasant and quiet piece of nature in the mountains of Armenia, located near the Gyulagarak village . Highly recommend this place for all nature lovers.

Very well maintained park. Ideal for anyone that enjoys nice relaxing walks under beautiful trees.

No activity for kids (eg slides, swings) so keep that in mind of coming with kids. There are however some vendors outside that sell ice cream, popcorn or even pony rides that can be fun.

Whilst in sections, the autumn colors were a feature, I would have to say that overall, these gardens did not create a lasting impression.

Whilst this is Armenia's first botanical garden, that apparently covers approximately 35 hectares, and certainly we did not see most of it, what we did see was rather disappointing.

Perhaps a different time of year to visit would be of benefit.

Stepanavan dendropark is located in Lori province, close to Gyulagarak village, about 85 km from Yerevan. This is a natural forest with many unique trees and plants, a part of them is brought from the Yerevan botanical garden, the rest from different countries, such as Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Germany, France, etc.
Dendropark is a perfect place for eco-tourism and public excursions, where the nature and the air itself are amazingly pure and healthy. I strongly recommend to every tourist visit Dendropark and take photos. The entrance is free so far!!

This is a perfectly pleasant place to stroll around for an hour or so. To be fair this was August and the gardens were dry and parched. Also, coming from the UK where trees of all sorts are so common it probably had less impact.
However, the main purpose of this review is to say the road to the Dendropark is now repaired and new so visitors can safely ignore the previous concerns about this.

An interesting spot to stop off at when touring in this area. Contains trees from all over the world with a small number having their names either in Armenian or their scientific name - would have been helpful to have their common name in English. Nice paths through the trees with attractive spots to sit in this glorious cool place on a very hot day. Really enjoyed watching workers cutting the long grass with hand scythes - hard work! Not sure it’s worth a special excursion but definitely worth seeing if in the area.

At the company we decided to make a trip to the Dendropark and we all were very happy when we got in there. We used on of the many tour agencies to make it happen. The tour was including visits of two other places on the way. Dendropark by itself is still reminds Soviet heritage, however is very nice to walk and have some team building activities.
