ATTENTION here because the place is nothing like you see in the pictures. IT IS NOT IDYLLIC AS YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES. Entrance fee is 15 soles. When I visited, it was overcrowded and there weren't safety measures. There isn't a place to change your clothes or shower.

We almost let the bad reviews turn us off visiting. So glad we did visit. Only a 15 minute walk downhill (admittedly dusty) to the pools in a beautiful valley. We were the only visitors. We walked across the suspension bridge to the three pools which are covered in shade cloth. Not smelly, not dirty (but not designed to western standards). Apparently the pools are drained every night. The water was comfortably hot. We wore our swimmers under our clothes, and used the change rooms before returning - they were basic, but fine. We asked the girls there to call us a taxi to return to our hotel. A lovely way to spend an hour or so, though go early afternoon as once the sun goes behind the mountains, it does get cold.

we went to the tourist pool (the place is huge!) and the pool is maybe a little too hot for young kids, but I loved it! because the pool is so large, I thought it would be luke warm, but it was hot!
wonderful. really like swimming in a huge bathtub.

If you are staying nearby, be sure to arrive here early to avoid the crowds. The springs are lovely and I thought that they were clean. We arrived at about 10:30 and there was only one local man there. By 11am the minibuses full of tourists who had a visit to the hot springs included in some sort of package started arriving and it became quite busy - not that I resent this, and I enjoyed chatting to some of them, but it was just so peaceful practically having the place to ourselves beforehand!
The water is heated by underground volcanic activity and is very warm. They hire towels for 6 soles each. We caught a taxi back up the steep hill to our accommodation in Yanque for 10 soles.

Even the 5 dollars one pays to get in is excessive for the current state of this place. The changing rooms smell like urine, dirty toilet papers everywhere... not a pleasant place to enjoy hot springs. Skip it!

We were able to walk from our lodge and took a taxi back. Had dressing rooms and shower available. The pools are drained and cleaned at the end of every day. Very beautiful place and really enjoyed the hot waters.

We started from the Killawasi Lodge in Yanque, so we walked downhill for 30 minutes (dirt road). The facilities (changing room, toilet) are pretty basic but clean. The basins are clean and at a hot but pleasant temperature; try to get there in the early afternoon, as the sun goes down behind the mountains early and the air temperature goes down too.

There are a number of excellent Spa in this area, and this is certainly one of them. It is rather quite a few steps to go down to and then up when done, but worth the effort I think. The views are something, and it is a nice place to spend half a day or so.

There are more than one set of hot springs in this area. Our group went to one accessed by the high bridge (or more the remainder of a bridge). A few planks are missing on the walk across, but it just added to the rustic experience. We saw lots of people walking to the other set of springs further along, which looked just as nice.
We brought towels from our hotel, and as we were the only group we left our belongings on the shelves. The three outdoor pools are all different temperatures, and there's a larger indoor pool so there's a place for everyone. We spent our time outdoors, as the view is wonderful. Bring a camera if you can!
It was the end of the day, but the pools seemed very clean (water continously running through them). As we were leaving we chatted with the friendly owner as he was emptying and cleaning the pools (they fill them up everyday). Great place to unwind, definitely recommend.
