- MEDPUNKZNew Delhi, India239 contributionsToo crowdedNot for covid times, too many people on the beach...will only get busier as the time comes. No shack is open, so no option to sit on the beach after sunset....wasted trip for us....North Goa beaches are a much better option. Otherwise stay at a beach attached to a resort where you are staying if you want south GoaVisited October 2020Travelled with familyWritten 30 October 2020
- PaulwerroWiltshire, United Kingdom14 contributionsWhat a clean beachSo clean been here over 12 times with a six year gap. Beach wasn’t to bad back then but now what a difference!. Many shacks available but recommend rendezvouse a1 service and the food well.... great place to see sunsets and sun beds are available with full service from the shack .Visited January 2020Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 January 2020
- Vibhor JoshiVancouver, Canada76 contributionsThe local beach of South GoaAs i would describe in my words, Colva is the local beach of mid-south goa. Accessibility: Colva beach is easily connected to almost major places within goa, the local bus service is also very frequent, fairly quick and extremely cheap. Cleanliness: Considering it is one of most visited (read crowded) beaches, i would rate it at 3/5. Eateries: Not recommended. Shacks are average, food is below average, everything is over priced. Head straight to Benaulim (walk southwards for 15 mins while enjoying the Sunset along the beach.Visited February 2021Written 10 April 2021

Liked the beach, the atmosphere (though a bit crowded) and enjoyed food at Kentuckee (shack beside the beach). Much livelier than Varca beach. Sunset was really awesome.

Goa's all the Beaches are clean and if there is too much crowd sometimes.
Hawkers are there everywhere but sell stuff too costly.

Been to almost every beach in Goa from Far south to far north.
I have to agree it's a transportation hub to bring in the hordes from local area. Such a shame ghat the local people and other Indian tourist can't live the own piece of paradise. They just drop litter. And blame the government for not picking it up.., still clearly 100 yrs behind in mentality ! What a real shame they can't even clear the 10meters around their own beach huts!
Come on Indians it's your own country your desecrating

Colva beach in South Goa has gained widespread popularity in recent years, drawing numerous tourists to its shores. With a variety of beach shacks and hotels, it has become a bustling hub for travelers. The beach itself boasts a stunning expanse of white sands; however, the detrimental effects of urbanization and high tourist footfall have resulted in the issue of litter and scattered trash. Nevertheless, Colva beach offers breathtaking sunsets that are truly mesmerizing to behold. Additionally, the convenience of ample parking just outside the beach makes it easily accessible for visitors. Furthermore, water sports enthusiasts will find plenty of options to indulge in thrilling activities, adding an exciting element to their beach experience.

Colva Beach is possibly the best known and most popular beach in South Goa. There are a lot of shacks, bars and facilities for water sports. However, the beach tends to be quite crowded and visitors do litter the place. There are a lot of shops a short walk away from the beach. There is also a state run hotel at the location

Avoid it. It is overcrowded & dirty. The worse thing is all the rubbish, visitors just drop their rubbish on the ground. The water ways around the area is used as a rubbish dump. I don't understand why people don't care about this lovely environment.

At this moment, Colva lost its charm. There’s fishing and drying of those fishes happening just near the beach, hence not for tourists. Benaulim which is just 2 kms away is better than this one. Colva is the one, you can skip while in south Goa.

Starting June first week all beach activities are not allowed because of the monsoon.
But you can go and spend time on the beach. Early in the morning it is very pleasant. Evening time around 530 to 630 sunset is beautiful.

hii how much cost for water sports? like paragliding??
nick_singh17
New Delhi, India81 contributions
They will take 1000 rupees and ride would be hardly of 2-3 minutes. If there will be a long tourist queue for paragliding then you won't be able to get the actual pleasure and adventure feeling because these paragliding personnel will always be in a hurry to take next person. If one can afford good hotels in South Goa then kindly do these water sports activities at private beaches owned by different hotels. There you will get your own sweet time and satisfaction while doing these sports
