This church in the center of the old town is (as many others) built on top of a mosque. Entrance is free -if the church is open, and the interior is unique and interesting.

This is a beautiful cathedral, set in a lovely square in the heart of the old town. We found it very peaceful inside & there are chapels where you can light a candle & say a quiet prayer. Well worth a visit.

Well worth a visit, just look up to the beautifully built vaulted ceiling, its execution is simple yet delightful and the copula is elegant, amazing to think how this was built. to the left side of the altar a door takes you into a large room which has a doorway out into a lovely cloistered courtyard with lofty palm trees.

We have been to over 200 cathedrals and churches on our visits to Europe. This Church is very plain on the outside and although fairly large the inside is not spectacular. The church is modestly decorated and the altar is somewhat plain. Perhaps we have seen to many churches but we see nothing special here.

What can I say, absolutely stunning Cathedral. Set in the middle of the town in a square surrounded by lovely eateries.. If we hadn't gone on a walking tour with Maria we probably would have walked past it. A definite must see!!

A stunning Catholic Church in the heart of the city. Peaceful and sacred, stooped in history. It is positioned in between local shops, easily ground with plenty to do locally after your visit.

It's not as large or elaborate as many of the earlier cathedrals around Spain but this one has very elegant lines and a wonderful dome that is the highlight for me. Built between 1613 and 1662 on the site of an old mosque, this is really worth a visit.
