If you are in Candelaria, then seeing this Plaza is a must-do. The statues of the nine Guanche kings are very well done indeed and it is very pleasant to walk along the shoreline to the caves behind the Basilica. Beware the waves!

Called here 3 times, the best coffee in Candelaria. Lovely staff and a great place to sit and admire the Basilica and statues.

An area soaked in history that was very interesting to wander around and look at the religious statues and find out more.

Right in front of the basilica, this is quite a large square. It was decorated with ribbons when we visited. You can take nice photos of the statues of the Guanches from here.

When we visited it was bedecked by bunting stretching from a central pole out to the perimeter of the plaza - very colourful. The statues of the Menceyes Guanches are also well worth a look.

Well worth a walk along the front to see the views and the magnificent guardian statues, facing in from the sea.
