It is a Roman Temple located in old town of Vic, a city in the center of Catalonia. It is a very curious building, which I did not expect to find here and very interesting place. here you can learn about the history and now it is reconverted in a little museum of Contemporanean Art. Very nice. Also I am sure, you see it, if you walk around old town.

It's not fully authentic Roman work. It was rebuilt from the old foundation up in recent times. Hopefully they used some of the original stone, but I didn't ask. The attendant was kind enough to let us go downstairs (Don't count on it.). We got to see the original Roman stone foundation, but it's not a big deal.
So yes, walk by and have a look, but don't make a special trip.

An ancient Roman temple located in the uptown area of Vic dates from the 2nd century, the golden age of the Roman Empire. A short walk from Vic's Plaça Major on Pare Xifrer street, check out this Roman temple discovered in 1882 underneath an 11th century castle. It is situated on one of the highest spots of Vic (Ausa, the Roman name for Vic). It Is build out of sandstone found in the area around Vic. It is about 19 meters long, 10 meters wide and 11 meters high. In the 11th century, the temple was literally covered by the structure of the Castle of els Montcada, which later became the residence of the Veguers and finally, the prison of Vic. Not until 1882, during the demolition of the old castle, the workers spotted the remains of a Roman temple among the ruins, and in very good condition. And enough is left to let one imagine how it would have been originally. The reconstruction lasted for 77 years (1883-1959), but it is currently one of only two Roman temples throughout Spain to have been preserved practically complete. The temple, built on a podium, consists of a cella (small chamber) and an atrium with 8 columns. Two of the walls of the cella were found almost intact.

The Roman Temple is remarkable in that It was built in the 1st Century A.D.!! The Temple is the only surviving building of the city of Auso, as Vic was called in Roman times, and gives us today an historic reconstructions of how the temple would have looked.

Nothing to write home about it. Small and tucked in the corner. I don't know when it can be visited. It was all closed and fenced in on Wednesday August 28 mid day. It is on the map, cant miss it as it is in the old town but I would make a special trip to it. Not important, if you want to see Roman attraction there are better places.

It is one of the nicest thing to see in Vic. Remaining of a Roman temple. Restored and well preserved. It is not a very big but sufficient to let you feel that once the Romans were in Vic.

We walked through Vic looking for a place to grab a bite to eat, and settled on a cafe that had tables in front of the Roman temple. Lovely place, quiet, and not as full of tourists as many others.

We have not been outside (it was not open at 17.00) but it looks pretty need from the outside. Vic is vey nice to visit, and it is always nice to have some landmarks, as an excuse to go somewhere. This temple is easy to find so, it suits our need ;)

An impressive building from the outside but check the opening times. Closed Mondays and Tuesday to Saturday 13.00 to 18.00. It's still worth visiting to view from the outside.

Hi, this was our first stop of.the day & needed to wait until 11 to open. The attendant inside could not have been more apathetic. Gratefully a brochure in.English regarding Vic itself as otherwise nada. The outside looked and is impressive but inside!!!!!!!!! Is it an art gallery as some of the pieces were interesting. We asked uf we could go downstairs-a grunt!!!!!
The facade, fine, waiting until 11, pointless.
