The beach is amazing but it is unfortunately very rocky, there are restaurants which has great food but a bit overpriced, it is ok to go for a day but not to stay the night, the nightlife is poor.

You can take a bus. Probably a 1/2 day ride. Just got back from el salvador last Thursday. Take a lesdon through kayu at Suzail near el tunco.
