The Battle of Britain memorial Flight is a collection of WW2 aircraft which is maintained in flying condition and which performs at various events throughout the year. Aircraft are usually on view and visitors are given lots of interesting information and anecdotes by the well informed volunteer tour guides. As the base is operational all viewing is by guided tour... More

I visited this site with my father in law. We're both plane mad and neither of us had been before. We were shown into the hanger as part of a group and led by a very experienced, knowledgeable and interesting guide. I can't recall his name but understood that he flew lightenings during his time with the RAF. Very interesting... More

Seeing our heritage in working fighting order was a privilege. The tour guide was knowledgeable and approachable. And seeing the Lancaster fly was awesome. Could only have been better if the hurricanes or spitfires had flown too. Not suitable for children.

Worth my £5-50 for the 90 minute guided tour. Knowledgable guide made it a very interesting experience.. Restaurant food was very well priced also.

I took my father in law (who is now in a wheelchair) to see the Battle of Britain Memorial flight aircraft on a sunny Monday morning. The site is easy to find (LN4 4SY)with ample free car parking on the opposite side of the road. We arrived as it opened at 10:00 and booked on the 10:30 am tour. (Cost... More

Basically a tour of the working hangar and knowledge given on the aircraft used in the Battle of Britain. Some interesting anecdotal stories bring it to life a little . £20 for the guided tour for a family of 4 lasts 90 minutes and then there's the visitor info centre. Lovely tea room

First up, visiting the BBMF Visitor Centre is a good experience, the visitor centre itself is free and the hangar tour is interesting if you like aeroplanes & history. If you don't then it's probably not the place for you. The opportunity to see maintenance taking place or flying is not to be missed if you're in the area. But...... More

Visited this centre last week whilst in the area. This is a superb place to visit for children and adults alike. Great tour guide, I think it was Stuart, plenty of things to buy in the shop too. There was a tea room too, with prices very reasonable. The icing on the cake was the flight display of a Lancaster... More

If you are interested in the history of our wonderful RAF then this place is a definite to visit. There is a well stocked shop full of interesting memorabilia with extremely friendly staff. The tour guide was magnificent and made the whole experience come to life. You will not be disappointed.

Spitfire, Hurricane and the Lancaster bomber are nearly always on display on a good day, Dakota was in hiding today. The typhoons regularly do testing, I counted 9 but I've seen 12 here. The jet noise is unbelievable, just managed to catch a hurricane taking off today which was a bonus, the sound of that was glorious, The car park... More
