As we had been to Rome many a time we branched out and took a Bus to Tarquinia instead and spent an awesome day exploring the Tombs and Museum, the Cathedral plus the quaint streets and houses. The Cathedral is very light and bright inside and on an extremely hot day it was blissfully cool. The frescos were interesting.

The Cathedral of Saints Margaret and Martin is the cathedral of Tarquinia (Duomo). Initially a church was built at this site in the 13th century but it burnt to the ground some 400 years later. The present cathedral was finished in 1874.

This historic building seen from the outside is very scenic as it steals the show from the square in which it is located! With the bell tower it makes the view of this little piece of the center of Tarquinia very beautiful to look at! It was closed so I can't judge its interior! Happy visit to you people of TripAdvisor.

Church located near the entrance to the town and which may be missing even though it has one of the highest points in the town.

It is worth getting lost inside for a few minutes.
