The museum is located in the centre of the town. It is surrounded by litter and hawkers napping on the benches. However, this museum was recommended to me by various people, and when I walked in, I immediately knew why. I was greeted by two...More

Took my granddaughters out for the afternoon ...they really enjoyed the history lesson . Everything is laid out in such a easy to follow and good flowing style, it was clean and neat.

Great small museum dedicated to the events that happened in Ladysmith during the Boer War. Such an important part of history and well told in the museum pieces.

Set aside a half day to do justice to this museum. Displays are comprehensive and offer a lot of reading. We had the benefit of our guide to walk us through it but it can be done alone.

Visited on a Sunday, and closed. Would of thought the weekend and school holidays would be a prime time to be open.

This visit gave us a background to our tour of the battlefields. The exhibits are clearly numbered and well documented so are easy to understand.

The people who staff this museum are exceptionally friendly and helpful and there are some extraordinary exhibits here - to say nothing of the building itself. But it is all rather tired. One needs an understanding of the siege in advance of the visit -...More
