We really enjoyed our visit although it was a bit rushed as we hadn't realised they were closing at lunchtime as the Easter Holiday was about to start. Comprehensive collection of artifacts and clear explanations. Staff very helpful.

We presented ourselves at the entrance of the museum at 11.00 hours on saturday morning (11.2.2017). There were other visitors who told us all the doors to the museum were closed. However, no sign that the museum was temporarily not open. We were approached by a gentleman telling us that the person who was supposed to be present would not... More

Its a historic and interesting place situated in the middle of chaos. It says lot about the way The country was build. So absolutely with a visit.

We tried to visit but it was closed with no indication as to why. My best guess is it is run by the town and since it was a holiday they decided nobody needed to see the museum anyways... Overall the exterior looked shabby just like the town (sadly).

A small museum, well worth a visit, telling the story of the Ladysmith museum in the context of the Anglo-Boer war. A more recent addition - interpretative panels - raises questions about what we should do with uncomfortable and difficult history. I enjoyed my visit very much.

This well maintained provincial museum gives a very accurate picture of this historically important Anglo/Boer War siege. Well worth a visit if you are interested in South African history.
