Food is simple but tasty and plentiful. Service is exceptionally friendly. Authentic Spanish simplicity. I would highly recommend especially the unique sangria

A lovely place to watch the sun set, relax and feel some history. There's a natural beach and a great Chiringuito called La Sal close by.

We visited in evening when the temperature had cooled a bit as parking is limited and you it's quite a climb up steep streets to get there. It's a stunning location with panoramic views both on the town and towards Gibraltar. The streets are quaint and picturesque and there's a main square where you can relax with a drink.

Not too far of the main A7 we found Casares just a short drive from La Duquesa – we’ve been before but just coming around the bend to see this white village seemingly perched on a rock. The white washed house are built into the hills and I just wonder how they manage to paint the exteriors ! You can... More

Take the time and make the effort to walk it but not in July or August as you might not make it home. Great surrounding scenery and quirky nooks and crannies. Nothing particularly 'wow' about this spot, just somewhere pleasant to go to kill a couple of hours.

A reasonable drive to this village and worth a few hours walking around. Wonderful views from many parts of the village. Clean white buildings with lots of pretty winding narrow streets. Quite a few shops selling local items. I found a super wee store set within the walls full of colourful clothing, jewellery and local pots. it's owned by a... More

We had a wedding in the hills, just up from the coast so decided to take a morning trip to the old town of Casares. This was a really pleasant surprise. It is a small town, but the white wash stone walls stand out a mile when you are at the top of the hill. The walk to the Castle... More

We parked in the free multi storey and then explored the town by foot ending up at the Castle. It is a pretty, interesting walk up to the Castle which is rewarded by some great views. Don't miss the immaculately kept cemetery which also offers great views over the surrounding countryside. Also look out for the soaring buzzards.

Park your car up top and walk down the narrow cobbled streets. There is a surprise around every corner. Keep you camera handy. Stop for a refreshment in the central square before tackling the climb upto the castle and church. Actually not to much of a hike.... once at the top the castle ruins and church are not upto much...
