Today we were shown around and given a c lear and concise and interesting explanation (although sad and moving) of the Canadian Soldiers efforts at Juno beach during World War 2

Jordan engaged with all of us and made an excellent presentation and kept us captivated throughout.

He is a credit to the Centre Team and an excellent choice .

We were on Juno beach as part of a group guided tour. Juno beach is of historic importance and was one of 5 beaches the allies landed on June 6th 1944.
There is really not much to see on the beach itself and the surrounding area is very built up with apartment blocks. The visitor centre gives you a far greater perspective.

All Canadians ought to be acquainted with this historic place which includes newly excavated German bunkers, Not far is the newly established Canadian museum and just a little ways further is Canada House, the first house liberated in France during D-Day invasion (by the Winnipeg Rifles, no less). The town bordering the beach is lined with posters of Canadian heroes who fought in the campaign. Set in marvellous and picturesque Normandy, it is also an ideal vacation spot far from the madding crowd of the Mediterranean south.

Not so quiet back in 1944 when so many young Canadians lost their lives at the start of the liberation of France and the rest of Europe. Try and arrive at low tide so you can walk out, look back, and imagine running up the beach under heavy fire. Then, as I did, take a moment to remember all those who never made it home.

An incredibly moving dedication to the brave soldiers of the Canadian Military who fought here in World War Two. Walking along the beaches and exploring the German bunkers, reflecting on those who made the ultimate sacrifice is inspiring

Juno is the second beach if you're driving in the east-west direction starting from the Sword beach (read that review).
Contrary to the Sword beach, here the signage is good so you have no worries.
First you will pass a very picturesque village of Courseulles sur Mer, where in the center you must detour around the Seulles river estuary, as the beach and visitor center is there, across the estuary. Plenty of free parking around, some paved, some on the sand.
As on other beaches the monuments are scattered along it, but it's a nice walk to see them all and pay tributes to those heroes.
The Visitor center is very good and informative.

The beach is a swallow water beach. Nice sand and plenty of space to walk. We had stayed the for summer holidays and enjoyed the water and the walking around the beach ... in addition to the memories of WWII

always a sobering experience, it become even more poignant to visit during the 2019 75th anniversary of D-day, with an amazing veteran whom disembarked here and who was returning for his first time. plenty of reenactment around and on the beach

People have to imagine how vast the landing area was to appreciate this. This occurred over miles not blocks of distance. Everything done with taste and respect for all those who died. I had to see it as one must appreciate what it took to enjoy what one has.
