Beautiful park but quite a walk here
Jan 2019 • Family
Beautiful park but quite a walk here. Not suitable for elderly and kids. But it is worth visiting otherwise.

Ski Lift fun
Jun 2018 • Family
We went on the ski lift with my grandparents up to the nanda Devi park. there are sprawling greens, the ski lift is safe and very enjoyable. However, there was a problem with the power that day and we were stuck on the way there in midair for about 5-7 minutes, and had to wait around 15 minutes to be able to go back.

As you move from Joshimath to Govind Ghat you get to experience the vast expanse of Nanda Devi would leave you enchanted
Aug 2017
As you move along the tipsy turvy curves and negotiate the hairpin bends while heading to the Govind Ghat or Badrinath, the majestic flora and fauna and nature of Nanda Devi National Park would leave you charmed. Be it the hustling river near Vishnu Prayag or the checkpoint of BRO near Govind Ghat, everything about this Biosphere reserve is phenomenal. If you are traveling in your own vehicle make sure that you stop somewhere along the road and click the stunning pics.

Beginner trek in himalayas
Aug 2017 • Friends
This was our first trek in Himalayas. Crazy peak(Trekking vendor) made our trekking experience an unforgettable memory with their excellent trek leaders(Raghu and Uphender). The leaders were the native people of Govind Ghat and they had the excellent knowledge and provide us with good meal and hotel.
Valley of flowers provides as rich treat for our eyes. The river which passes by at a km of 4 from the starting point provides us rejuvenation. The water is very cold but the stream gives us a good bath. Finally at the end of 7 kms approx there will be a memorial for Lady Joan Margaret legge. This is the end of a basic trek. From this point there is a path of 30kms approx which takes us to glacier(We didn't go as it requires approval for camping and we lack time). The scenic was very amazing and we had our first mission accomplished.

Jan 2017 • Couples
The place is nice but weather plays a crucial role. At times due to snow/rain it can get difficult. Though the place is heavenly.

Lord Curzon trail plus Roop Kund trek
Sep 2016 • Family
We combined these two popular treks this over 11 days in Sept/Oct 2016. Great trek with mountain views, pine forests, rhodadendum, meadows above the tree line, terraced farms, villages, a bit of history and remote camps. Weather was a bit mixed - unseasonably late cloud and a bit of rain, but also plenty of fine weather. We hardly saw other trekkers until we got to the Roop Kund side, which is very popular with Indian groups. We stayed at The Himalayan Abode prior to the trek which was organised by the proprietor - Ajay Bahtt.

Wonderful trek across the Kuari Pass
Oct 2016 • Couples
The Kuari pass trek starts at Auli, above Joshimath and finished in Ramni. 5 glorious days of walking with fantastic views of the Nanda Devi range. The landscape varied from Alpine meadows to semi-tropical forests with waterfalls, pretty remote villages, langur monkeys and some tough walking.
We wanted to travel with as small a group as possible.
Our guide was Dinesh Bisht who arranged the permissions and two mules and Biroo the friendly mule driver. Dinesh understood that we are used to being self sufficient hiking alpine style with our own tent and stove.
After the Kuari pass trek we enjoyed Dinesh's company so much we hired him for a second trek to guide us to the Gangotri glacier and Tapovan meadow. For this trek Dinesh knew our fitness and experience level so he was willing to trek without mules and we carried our own equipment.
I would definitely recommend Dinesh, who has a good grasp of English and a positive and friendly manner. Also he is a good cook!
You can contact Dinesh via the manager of the Kamet hotel in Joshimath.
