Talisker Distillery is the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye, set on the shores of Loch Harport in the village of Carbost. Come and visit us for a tour of the Distillery, see our 5 copper pot stills and the traditional worm tubs that make our Talisker so unique, then take a look at the casks in the warehouse where the Angel’s Share is lost to evaporation during maturation. Have a taste of our award winning Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky in our Visitor Centre.

Excellent tour guide. It is a functional distillery. It was worth it. I learned a lot about making scotch, Loved the sample at the end.

A little visit very interesting with humour of the distillery, to understand how they make whisky. There is a little degustation at the end, just a shame there is not much explanation about how try whisky.

This was a standard distillery tour which was okay but nothing more. The wee dram at the end was (obviously!) nice. Drinks were very expensive, for example Talisker Storm priced at £44 and we had just bought a bottle at Tesco for £30.

This was our first tour at a distillery so we enjoyed it. Tour guide seemed very informed and answered all questions. Tour took an hour in total, including tasting. Its small so am sure there are better ones to try. Lots of stairs. We were...More

Talisker is part of the DIAGEO concern and therefore it is likely that you feel that you already saw the tour similarly at a different location like Oban or Glenkinchie. The tour though is quite good. Information was shared vivid and profound. We got a...More

The tour was quite informative although the tour guide did not seem very enthused with his job. Lots of stairs to climb so not suitable for disabled people and this was not even mentioned at the ticket counter or online as far as I could...More

We tried to hit the first tour of the morning (basic 45 minute) tour but our IPhone map app had us turn too soon and we ended up going for a long ride on a one lane road until we reached what the app said...More

This was a very informative tour with a very god guide. A lot of information about whiskey. The Storm whiskey tasting at end of tour was disappointing. More disappointing was paying £100 for 18 year old whiskey at distillery to find it is £25 cheaper...More

Great small distillery with nice tour and sample at the end. Easy to combine with the Fairy Pools nearby.

This was a nice visit, and worth doing if you haven't had a distillery experience before, but it lacked a bit of the personality you get with, say, Lagavulin, and the tour is a bit samey if you've done a lot of these (compared to...More

We came early and booked a tour. We got a time slot in the afternoon. Used our pass to get the tour for free. We visited in the outer season though. Do not know if you can book online for free.

We drove by car to the Distillery from Portree. Buy a map to follow, as you might find yourself thinking that you have missed the turn off or have gone too far (or perhaps that's a Aussie thing, given that when we get in... More
