If you walk from Corbridge go via the bridle path and not the main road. We had never heard of this castle so we really enjoyed the walk and the visit. It had a very informative and enthusiastic guy at the reception.

If you are into castles then this is a must stop. This castle is not a ruin nor is it restored. This castle was used by farmers until the mid 1960's and has basic rooms/structures and gives you an excellent idea of what an "old"...More

This is a lovely place but if you want to go exploring in the surrounding area bring the right shoes for walking along the fields,the castle isn't very big but nicely preserved and there is a gift shop and information centre with very welcoming staff...More

brilliant castle. Great Setting. Has some very interesting wooden and stone features. The Steward was brilliant (Craig) very very entertaining and factual. Have wanted to visit this site for many years. Could see my self living here.
