Really glad we checked out the pink sand beach. Our guide recommended it so we went there on the day we rented a car. The short dirt road in was a bit rough but ok if you go slow. There is a short hike over lava rocks to get to the beach. It is a small beach with pink sand... More

This is the only real beach on the island about 20km from town. Clean and tidy, you will still need your National park pass to get in. Uncrowded place for relaxation. Other beaches in town are really rocky swimming places (still very nice)

Beautiful secluded beach. The walk was a little treacherous due to heavy rains recently. There are signs for no swimming so we just waded.

We wanted to avoid the bust anakena beach on a saturday so we drove down the side road, climbed a few rocks and found this little gem with just a few people on it. This beach may be difficult for people with really young children or mobility issues to get to but if you're up for it, it's worth the... More

There are 2 sand beaches on Easter island: Anakena and Ovahe. Ovahe is more difficult to reach and pretty dangerous for swimming, but it's a charming spot.

I rented a 4-wheeler first day in to tour about on my own. Ended up here - you know what sand in toes is all about! Oh yeah!

Our house host told us about this beach and we immediately went to check it out. It's a nice little walk from the beach to one of the most amazing private beaches. The sand was beautiful as was the water. There is little shade around but going there was well worth it.
