We drove around two hours from Alajuela for this day trip. The mountain roads were one curve after another and driving was slow. The waterfall was amazing but there was nothing else there except some hummingbirds. They have a cafe too. Not sure I’d recommend...More

My family thoroughly enjoyed the hike to the blue waterfalls. Our guide was helpful, especially with my younger boys (ages 9 and 10). The hike to the falls was rather uneventful but totally worth the beautiful blue water and thundering falls. We had opportunities to...More

Spectacular waterfall, not difficult to find, safe parking to leave your car. Pay the entry fee in colones, much cheaper than if you pay in dollars due the exchange rate applied, I found out that too late. It is quite easy hike, and lots of...More

The hike is a little hard, but not too hard. It's WELL worth it. We were there at 10 am and were all alone at the bottom

Catarata del Toro is a beautiful, undiscoverd piece of Costa Rica. We only stayed there for one night, but we loved walking down the trail to see the impressive waterfall. In the morning a guide brought us to the Blue River, which was absolutely stunning!...More

Just starting the trail you see the magnificence of this waterfall... The trail is in quite admirable condition and there is even benches all over for you to sit down and enjoy the view from multiple perspectives... Definitely worth coming close to this amazing fall...More

This is definitely one of the most amazing waterfalls I've seen! I did the rappel tour and spent so much time going down, but it was worth it!

Awesome adventure. A must do. This waterfall is amazing. A steep hike down and back out, but not difficult and well worth it.
