The good: The patio was nice, the view was nice, the tasting room was nice too, as were the staff.

The not-so-good: The elevation and infatuation sparkling wines were flat and watery. The rummed cider was flat and watery (not very much of a rum taste either). We saw a trend and bought nothing to take with us but vowed to come back after they figure a few things out to improve their wines.

There's a self-serve wine bar; you buy a &20 card at the counter, try what you like, then get back whatever you didn't spend if you tasted less than $20 worth.

If you like pretty much any wine that someone puts in front of you, Planters is worth a visit. If you have been drinking wine for a long time and decided what you like and have a bit of a heightened expectation of your wine, this is not the pace for you. Or me. Yet.

Dealt with an excellent young man named Mark, he was very knowledgable and truly cared about the product. He was a local Nova Scotian and his passion really made our day. Needless to say we ordered A LOT of wine.

The tasting room is located in a beautiful renovated barn with a wrap around deck. The views are amazing. Staff is terrific and completes an informative tasting through their wines. Excellent whites. Our favourite winery of the day.

Surprised by this little gem. Loved the wines. All four in our group liked almost every selection. The taster server even cracked open a bottle of Lucie Kuhlmann for me. Only disappointment is that at most other wineries, the tasting fee is waived with a purchase of a few bottles or $100 in wine.

Recommended by our B&B hosts. Quiet place, lovely view. Enjoyed the wine so much that we arranged to send some home. Sit out on the patio.

Dropped in here on a whim after being determined to find a winery and seeing this one mentioned on TripAdvisor.

It's located on a nice large property with all the grape growing starting right by the store. The boutique itself is a huge old barn that's been renovated inside and is really fancy looking, preserving a lot of the original structure of the barn.

We signed up for a wine tasting and got to try out 3 different wines while getting a brief talk from the staff about each wine. The wines were excellent, very much appreciated by my pallet, so I went and bought several bottles of each 😁.

What did strike me is the quality of this wine vs what I've been buying in the NSLC stores for the past week. I had started to get the impression that Nova Scotia wines (reds) just aren't very good, but the rosée and the 2 different reds I bought at Planter's Ridge were amazing, so it has fixed my impression of Nova Scotia wines!

It's well worth a stop to taste their wines and pick up a case of the good stuff!

Thanks so much for visiting and taking the time to leave a review! With our red wines, we put a focus on creating silky-smooth blends. We are so glad you enjoyed them, along with our rosé. We hope to have you visit again in the future. Cheers!

We went here on a recommendation of a local and we were delighted. They were closing in 15min but they welcomed us in and didn't seem to mind that we stayed for at least 30 min. The views were beautiful and the wine tasting was fun and inexpensive. I decided I liked the chardonnay the best. The young lady behind the bar was a delight and the owner was really nice as well. What a great experience!

Nice wines, pretty view. Had a tasting and then bought a glass of wine to enjoy on their balcony. It was a good pit stop on our way to Wolfville.

Stopped here as part of the Tattingstone Starr's Point tour. Beautiful restored barn serves as the winery/tasting area. A great space that would be wonderful for a wedding or event. The owner gave us a very informative tour that took us from grape to bottle and all the steps in between. Visited at the end of September and the vines were full of grapes. Amazing wines (Tidal Bay being our favourite).
