Great place to visit. A lot of the hostels in the area have day passes that allow use of their facilities to chill in the area without staying overnight. Really enjoyed an afternoon here and stayed at Laguna Beach Club for $6 US per person for the day before heading to Granada

This was the most beautiful place I saw on my trip to Nicaragua! The Laguna is 23,000 years old and was created by a deceased volcano. The water is warm, clear and slightly salty. The sunset is not to be missed!

There have single and double kayaks, paddle boards and... More

Laguna de Apoyo is easily accessible by bus from Granada. You can also take a taxi but you will pay more. It is not a beach; it is a laguna circled by little resorts. You can go as a daytrip or spend a few days there. I spent the afternoon at the Laguna Beach resort. US$6 for the day, including... More

Very nice lake, large size with 360 surrounding of mountains. Close to Mombacho volcano for additional tourism.

We went to the Lake as an afternoon activity through La Mariposa, taking us to a secluded resort at the end of the road for the afternoon. hammocks, chaise lounges and swimming. Quite wonderfull

On a nice day, this is a beautiful and relaxing place to hang out. But on windy days, go somewhere else.
