Huge sandy beach with amazing views from the coastal trail. The grassy area above and the trails alongside are terrific. Good all year round.

We only recently ‘discovered’ this lovely unspoilt beach after parking by St Uny’s Church at Lelant and walking down the coastal path (cutting through West Cornwall Golf Club), over a railway bridge and through the sand dunes. The walk took us about twenty minutes. Porthkidney...More

Simply lovely. No shops, deckchairs, cafes, toilets, litter - just perfect natural unspoilt beauty. Nice and quiet. Perfect for dogs all year round. We climbed the dunes to walk back along the SW coastal path which was an unwise move as it had rained very...More

Stayed in a house just above this beach. It can be quite difficult to get down on the beach, especially from the Lelant end , as the sand dunes are steep. But once you are down, it's such a gorgeous stretch of sands. No facilities,...More

We drove for ages and asked lots of people, the sat nav would not find it. Eventually we gave up, Cornwall is not very dog friendly, in fact it is better in the Cotswold's, wish I had never gone, the traffic was terrible every day.

Use a map as Satnav will get you lost, you'll need to drive through West Cornwall golf club to find the car park.Once there and parked up the beach seems to go on forever when the tide is out.Great for dogs.

Brilliant rainbows with gusty winds. Kite surfers look to be having fun in the Hayle estuary. Vast areas of sand and dunes

A stunning place for a walk. The interplay of the white and black sand forms wonderful patterns. View is amazing. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely gorgeous unspoilt beach. Worth the walk. Sand dunes, rock pools and clean. Walk to the estuary at the far end. The walk takes you up to Lelant and beyond. No facilities at this beach so take everything with you - drinks and food.

We wanted to walk our dog oen evening so tried walking to Porthkidney Sands from our holiday rental in Carbis Bay along the SW Coast Path, but unfortunately didn't quite make it. It was a little more than the short evening stroll that I had...More

I'm sorry I don't know. We stayed on a campsite outside of st Ives (about 10minutes). I've only been there once and I'm going again in May but staying in a house rental in st Ives instead. I would imagine there lots of... More

As far as I am aware there isn't any parking for Porth Kidney sands, it's a walk I'm afraid. We were staying at Carbis Bay so walked along the cliffs from our accommodation but there is public parking in Carbis Bay. I... More
