The title says it all, the car parking is way over priced... This price allegedly includes access to the estate... But if you park elsewhere there is no charge for the 'estate' so that's what I suggest you do.

Went to the Cavendish, went on the Hey Diddle Diddle Trail even though it was drizzling we had a great day out. The foot paths weren't really muddy but we were prepared if they were. Just such a lovely place and would be fantastic in the warmer sunny weather. We will definitely be back in summer

I took my partner and my two dogs to Bolton Abbey to show off one of my favourite places in the world. It didn't fail to impress again. Such a beautiful place. Xxx

The Abbey is set close to the river and is very beautiful. The parish church was once part of the abbey, and is also beautiful, calm and serene inside.Well worth a visit if you are in need of a spiritual uplift.

We visit often and many enjoyable walks, if your not familiar with area I feel some mislead there reviews commenting on the £8 parking fee - this is not really a car park fee but a contribution to keep all the grounds / bridges in good condition, yes you have to pay the £8 to enable you to park your... Really enjoyed the hey diddle diddle walk through Strid Wood. Lots to keep children occupied and good for a variety of ages. Paths are well maintained and signposted. However would like to see more staff around asking people to put dogs back on leads. It's not fair on people who stick to the rules or people who don't want a... More

Lovely walk along the river wharfe with the beautiful ruins of the abbey walks as long or as short as you want plenty of refreshment stops on the way. There is a fee of £8 for parking but that's it no further fees. Lovely place will definitely return

Visited Bolton Abbey today and really enjoyed walking along the river and through the Abbey's ruins. Parked in the car park close to the Post Office and gift shop and walked over the road to the Tea Cottage. Good light lunch and coffee and then walked along the river and explored the ruins and surroundings.

Well manicured park land with good kept walkways. Plenty of walks in a very pleasant surrounding. Lots of history associated with the Abbey and the remains are very interesting. The church is very nice and lots of information on the history and surrounding area is available. Great location a definate visit.

Stretching our legs on the riverside walk was very invigorating Lovely walk. Riverside path was easy going with good views of the river . Wished we'd had more time to walk along near the Abby as I was told the internal views in the Abby are fab . Will be back
