I had visited this beautiful peaceful temple complex during my recent trip to Kolkata. I had visited this place before also few years ago when I had gone in the morning and enjoyed hot yummy lunch served by followers of Saint Ramkrishna and Swami Vivekananda. This time around I had visited in the afternoon when the temple opens at 3.30... More

This is a must place to visit if you are visiting Kolkatta. It is so peaceful and serene. As soon as you enter the place you can feel some power of spiritualness. Ram Krishna museum is very informative. We had gone there in the evening and ware able to participate in the Sandhaya aarti. I would highly recommend it. Sitting... More

Many visit this place as a place that Shri. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa set up and where Swami Vivekananda lived but dont here for a visit - come here to contemplate on life and meditate - this is a place that is meant for that and not as a picnic spot. That's what it has sadly become. The place is closed between... More

Come early just to sit and enjy the peace and serenity of the place. The temple does not open until 10 AM but there is plenty to see. They serve a hot luch for all at noon. It is simply amazing to watch them serve hundreds of people at once. Simple but hot and fresh. The vegetables are picked from... More

I lived near Belur math all my life but I can't think why I have never been there until I was in college. It's peaceful, calm and beautiful. It's a place where you sit and forget your worries. Listening to the arti in the evening keeps you to close to your inner self and rise above hurdles. No matter how... More

The place consists of the temple built for Sree Ramakrishna Paramahmasar, the building exhibiting the history of Ramakrishna, and his disciples including the Vivekananda, and the palace where Vivekananda was creamated.

this was a last spot on our list of must see in a day, I must admit was not very keen on it, but reaching the place took all that fatigue out, this is a place little further away from most of the other must see, so I suggest start from this place, a beautifully placed area, which is free... More

We were not allowed inside since we were five minutes late at the main gate.Though it is a place of worship, visitors should have been permitted to see the temple from outside. Check the photos attached herewith, before planning a visit here, to know the timings..
